Here at ToC's country castle (you're not the only one with an estate, Miss Hybrid!!) I rely on a septic, and paper is an issue. Too much can clog the system and, slows down the rate of bacterial decomposition, which you don't want ... even with a weeping field.
The absolute worst thing you can put down a toilet with a septic system is Charmin, with Cotonelle running a close second. Both are so thick they do not break down well, form a thick layer on top of the tank contents and slow down enzymal digestion. Septic and Roto Roter guys make a fortune thanks to Charmin and Cotonelle.
The perceived wisdom in Scott single ply is the absolute best in terms of its quick break down once flushed.
If you want to use fancy quilted tissue for your sensitive little chocolate starfish, I suggest adopting the strategy we have here at Orange Manors - only brown tissue goes down. Every thing else goes in the waste basket.
