I use this style of warning for sarcasm alert. I keep forgetting all are not used to me yet. It just seems funny to me that the entire family hunkers down after such an act. Back in ancient times parents were ashamed when their kids misbehaved. Now they all seem to be in it together.
If one of our kids did that, my wife would be the first in line to dole out capital punishment - to the parents!

I believe the kid being quiet - his right indeed - is more for the parents benefit. There is video and other evidence which will incriminate him more than any statement to authorities. The parents have to be shitting a brick right now.

I must say, I didn't get the post, I was still on my first cup.. If I did something like that, my family would have got me a lawyer, and that would be it. tell the truth, and take responsibility for my actions. When I was a kid, and did something wrong, I got the wooden spoon, or the hot wheels track. And I grew up a better man for it, now you have to reason with a 10 year old, like he has the intellect of an adult, which he is not. An ass is soft and fleshy for a reason. Now be sure, I am NOT advocating beating up a kid, or hitting him in the face, but a swat across the ass isn't the worst thing for a problem child. My best friend would get a major ass whopping by his dad, AFTER the school swatted him if he got in trouble, then give him a crew cut. To this day, my 56year old friend, will not cut his hair short. He doesn't have ponytail length hair, but it'll never be "job interview" short.

Depending on the States laws, they may be facing non capitol murder charges. Probably what Ohio calls "felony murder". Some states refer to it as "in concert with". I know a guy whose neighbor's son went to prison for murder, because he was present while his friend beat the shit out of a guy, that latter died in the hospital, but because he didn't immediately go to the law, he was considered as guilty. The guy that actually killed the guy didn't get pre meditation, or even 1st degree, because it was one of those things that just happened in the blink of an eye, in the middle of the street, but he'll be in prison a good while for it. The reality is, the parents should be shitting bricks, they handed a loaded gun, to a child. I wanted a Tommy gun when I was a kid, because of the show, "The Untouchables". I had no clue at that age what responsibility even meant, let alone have it. This kid clearly had parents that didn't have a clue what a trouble child they had, and they should go to jail, just for being stupid, which we all know you can't fix, and for being neglectful of what he was doing, or monitoring his behaviors. The kids 15, you can't give him shit about porn, he needs to jerk off, but facebook crap, and violent posts, or thoughts, that is their business. And I will guarantee you, his dad was constantly talking about shooting someone, or the need for a revolution.

My daughter just told me they were found. They left town for "their own safety" I can't confirm it yet.
There were a couple of links, and stories on Yahoo today saying the same thing. I meant to put them in my previous post, and I haven't read any of these, so I'm not sure if they are the same, or doubles to any you 2 gentlemen have posted...I just woke from a nap, and I need a cup to pry my lids apart'

And it is 54 in Denver with no snow in sight.

Looks like the Crumbleys are afraid of something.

I gotta say, I sure as hell would be, and they should be. There are fuck ups, and snafu's, but this is beyond that. they dropped the ball, and they dropped it hard. I'm actually surprised they were charged with manslaughter, that seems a little lite for the dad at least. Assuming the gun was purchased by him.

I couldn't get the link to work, but my God, what kind of a fucking moron buys a 15 ear old kid ANY thing past a Crossman air rifle, not the pistols, they look fucking to realistic. That's what got Tamir Rice killed, that pellet gun looked EXACTLY like a 1911 .45ACP. I honestly think dad needs to answer to charges too. Even if the kid is responsible, he's not allowed to own a hand gun until he's 21. That means dad puts it in his safe, and it comes out when they go to the range. A couple of good friends of mine are avid hunters, and their young sons became hunters too. They had to take hunter safety courses and be accompanied by their dads, and the kids guns were NEVER available to them until they were heading into the woods. The main key to the preservation of firearms rights, is safety. Personally, I think it should be mandatory training, just like driving a car is. One of those friends I mentioned, had 2 sons. both hunt, and at about 15 or so, the younger of the 2, had a friend over. The kids parents were of the absolute belief no one should be allowed to own any gun. The boys went down into the family room to play video games, and the kid saw the gun case, and was mesmerized to the point all he kept doing was bugging my buddies kid to play with the guns. He was so curious, and obsessed with it, he said it was kind of creepy. He never had exposer to firearms, even in a logical conversation type situation, he couldn't think about anything else. He left that house the same way he came in, and my sons friend told him right out, they aren't toys, they are dangerous, and my father would ground me until collage starts if I go near them, without supervision, and permission. Even I keep all but 1 gun locked up, and the only reason the one isn't, is because I have no children in the house, but if relatives come over, it goes right in the little safe I keep upstairs, for small things, like jewelry, a second handgun, my narcotic prescriptions, and such.

The parents each face four charges of involuntary manslaughter. They were just charged.

"LOL I'm not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught."
Oops. Dumb and dumber were found. To be honest, I thought they would be farther away than Detroit.

This whole thing is gonna turn into a 3-ring circus. I need to know who their lawyer is, so I know who NOT to call. Unless they're being stupid enough to ignore what little advise he appears to be providing.

I know most of you disagree with this ruling, but I can't. The only person responsible, was the man that pulled the trigger.

No problems here.
The government allows them to be sold in the US, and the company makes no bones about the lethality of their products.
Imagine suing Henkel for knives, Crockpot for their pressure cookers or like Mase said, cars/booze makers for alkie related deaths.

The only exceptions I can think of are:
1) Manufacturing defects which negligently cause death/harm
2) Knowingly hiding deadly side effects like tobacco

I agree. At least the 'deadly side effects' of guns is known.

There is one thing though that's really fucked up. The Remington firearms company has produced the model 700 bolt action rifle for decades, and early on, they had problems with the safety. They knew it, and never recalled it. People have been hurt, and killed, and payouts from law suits have been made, but it's been so long, and there are so many rifles out there, even at the minimal price it would have cost them, if they did it, it would cost more for the recall, then the company is worth. and it would have bankrupted them. Now I'm not sure if they have since fixed it, I would hope so, but there were so many out there, many of the original versions still are in the hands of consumers. To me, that is the firearms manufacturers fault, and responsibility,, both ethically, and financially..

That's not specific to Remington. Every product recall today still does that - companies won't always recall a product for every defect.
They weigh the cost of recalling/destroying/fixing the product, and estimate it against the cost of doing nothing, from how many people it might affect to lawsuits, etc.
If the cost of doing nothing is less, they won't do a recall.

Pretty fucked up when you consider they literally put a price on consumer's lives and do a cost/benefit analysis to see how many lives are worth the recall.

But they are the ONLY gun maker I know of. A firearm is not a place to take chances, or count beans. Don't forget, they knew very early on, when it would not have bankrupted the company, but merely been a very expensive mistake.

This is how you fix the problem. You don't wipe your ass with the Constitution, or persecute innocent, lawful gun owners. You do what these vigilant citizens had the brains and common sense to do, and thank God they did. People like me hate to see gun violence just as much as the people that don't advocate for the 2nd Amendment, or don't like guns. We don't expect you to change your ways and buy a gun, we just want our rights to lawfully own ours. I hope the 2 students that stopped this receive the recognition they obviously deserve.
