So the question is, should stupid people be sterilised? I'm not sure that interpretation is any better. Any way you look at it, its basically a call to debate the merits of eugenics.

Sure, it could be tongue in cheek. And maybe I should lighten up. Most certainly namreg has an absolute right to believe what he wants and express himself as he wants.

I guess I chose to believe the worst based on a cumulative reading of several other posts and the 'I dream of killing 99% of the population' post.

This is one of those things that people will agree with but never say in public. It used to happen here in the U.S. when eugenics was a mainstream idea, but not anymore.

Some people have even suggested Haiti should set up a sterilization program in exchange for vastly increased foreign aid. The Philipines tried sterilization programs and Puerto Rico did too (though this is considered a terrible point in P.R. history for many reasons) but Haiti might have the most cause to do it.

There are millions of people living on part of an Island that can't support that many people and it's constantly hit by disease and natural disaster. The Haitians have little in the way of marketable skills and the birthrate is very high.

But the idea of removing someone's ability to procreate hits on something deeply embedded in all humans, it's very difficult to ignore.
