Shayd World Tour

Yes ma'am! I promise I'll make it nice :D

Anyways, as we move a few states East (and North for that matter). Our next stop is St. Louis, Missouri. Anybody got anything good?

Pardon my dumb geography mistake (that should read West obviously not East). And pardon the fact that I neglected to say we'd be there for two weeks.

Anyway, this is our final US stop for a while, and it is the great city of Chicago. My wife has been there before and knows a lot of the really touristy spot, so any local unknown places would be great. Any ideas?

Wow. I was getting concerned.

I know nothing about out-of-the-way spots in Chicago. I've always tried to avoid it, even when I lived an hour and a half to the north.

Have oodles of fun!! :wave2:

You can come to my apartment and watch TV with me if you want. I have absolutely nothing to do for a while. :dunno:

I ruined my keyboard so I haven't been here in a few days, but, If you're still here in Chicago, here's a few ideas...

You can go down to Michigan Ave. and enjoy the sites/shopping. Your wife can get her kicks while shopping like crazy and at the same time, you can enjoy the sites, aka - beautiful women. While you're down near Michigan Ave., you can stop by Millenium Park and see the Crown Fountain and then make your way down to Buckingham Fountain which is just down the road. There's also a few museums that are pretty good and the oh-so-amazing Soldier Field.

Obviously, you could head up to the North Side (about a 10 minute drive from the Soldier Field area) and see Wrigley Field. Go ahead, take a picture of the Harry Carey statue and the Wrigley Field sign...everybody does.

As for places to eat, you could try somewhere like 312 (close to Michigan Ave.), Giordano's, Boka, Chicago Chop House or Blue Elephant. Obviously there are a million good places to eat, so you can pretty much just take your pick.

So...no beer and no games for me? I might as well stay home.

I said you could have some beers. :( I don't like it when people are in my apartment and not drinking. Well, excluding parents and other certain family members.

You can play video games with us one on condition...you must play my patented drinking game. It's called "ChefChiTown's Super Ultra Fun Alcohol Video Game Drinking Fest For Cool People". You'll be nice and drunk in about an hour and a half, so be prepared.

I misread. It's all good. We'll be on our way, as soon as Senob decides on the most scenic route.

And now I'd like to apologize to Shayd for hijacking his thread. I can't wait for the next installment on the tour!! :wave2:

If you want pizza, either go to lou malnatis or giordanos.

Sports arent really in season except hockey. Bears are away this week. If you stay a whole week, Soldiers field is THE place to see an NFL game.

Other than that, theres a bunch of museums and crap, and navy pier.

For some reason my wife was intent on going to see the pier, so we did. I have to say it was pretty nice, albeit somewhat crowded when we went.

Hats off to you my friend. We went to the Blue Elephant on Tuesday, and I can honestly say it was the best food of the week, save for maybe the pizza, or dogs, oh damn, it was all good!

Thanks bud! And on a side note, next time we come by, I'll make sure to give you some notice so we can drink and play video games together.

Actually I enjoyed it, got a kick out of seeing the banter between you and ChefChiTown.

And now for the next stop on the Tour (and the beginning of the International Stage), London, England. As a first timer going to London, I'm pretty lost as to where to go, so any ideas?

Anything to amuse others. :D

Tower of London. I'd like pictures.

Maybe a double decker tour of the city? Might be nice.
Make sure you see London Bridge, though I heard on the schoolyard it's falling down.

You'd think by this point I've have a pretty good idea of our itererary by now, but to quote my wife Sunday night at about 8pm "Oh yeah I signed us up for a tour with a tour guide company" :1orglaugh. So turns out I didn't get to go to any of the places I wanted to, rather we spent the majority of the time going to The British Museum, which was great, but it would have been nice to go other places.

Anyhow, next stop on the tour is Paris France. Looking forward to good food, and hopefully not being run over (as I nearly was in London) :1orglaugh. Anything ideas?

How hard is the exchange rate hitting you over there? It doesn't seem like the best time for a European vacation.

Paris...let's see...

Eiffel Tower
Notre Dame

Seriously, stray off the beaten path and find interesting things that way. Usually less tourists, too.

Actually it hasn't been too bad, primarily because we've been taking tours with tour companies, all of which were paid for three months ago (although I didn't realize until last week). Buying stuff to bring home is a little shocking, but I think we expected it to be expensive anyway.

And now for the final stop(s) of this leg of the tour: three days in Venice, and then two in Munich, before returning home for Holiday time at home. Any suggestions?
