A hotlink is actually a picture that is displayed in your post. There are two ways to display an actual picture in a post, attachments and hotlinks. You can differentiate between a hotlink and a regular link by their coding. A hotlink uses the tag and a regular link uses the [url] tag.

Using the attachment feature on Freeones, you can display any picture, even one that's on your hard drive. What happens here is the picture is uploaded to Freeones server and then displayed (after Moderator approval), thus using Freeones resources.

With a hotlink the picture is displayed in the post, but it is still located on whatever site the picture was found. So you can see the picture on Freeones but it is using the other sites resources (bandwidth). Btw, you can't hotlink a picture from your hard drive.

Also, unlike a regular link to a site, when you hotlink a picture, people who look at or download the picture never go to the site where the picture is located. This defeats the purpose of the site, which is to have people look at the pic and then see if they want join the site to look at more pics. If you never go to the site how are you even going to consider joining it. This means that a site is providing a service (letting you see a pic of a hot woman)without getting benefit of the service it's providing (you looking at their pitch for you to join their site), or you are simply stealing their bandwidth.

So, you can post links using the guidelines posted in the Official Board Rules.

Good night to everybody;
I want to suggest that a thread should be first proposed and then approved by a moderator before it starts.
I know many of us like to see our nick as a thread starter, (I did so, when I was a newbie)
But I think we must first use the search button to see if there is an existing thread about the babe or theme we wanna talk about.
Many times we see some threads with so few posts, that it doesn't worth to go on with them.
I believe this simple point will make his board a tidy place to talk.
I also want to suggest that after than an babe in the ID section is undoubtedly identified, this thread should be merged with (if there is one) an existing thread.
An example:

All the next threads are about Jezebelle Bond

That's a great idea in theory...but I have a feeling we would probably need alot more than the number of mods we have now if this were to be instituted. That would create a lot more work for them. Plus...there would probably be quite a bit of 'lag time' between when a user created a thread and it's approval.

I think the key is just to get the word out on the search function...but great thinking!

Good Idea.
But like wlfman wrote, nearly impossible to do within a short time and there would be needed a lot of people to check them all.

Think it would even be a problem to read through all threads :-(
My suggestion would have been to put all threads together that contain links an comments about the same girl or theme and close all others oder delete them.
but this will also take a lot of work.

The board should be fast moving and easy in which to participate. Having a thread approval list would destroy both of those two features.

rules are just a way of life and thats what makes freeones so good, cos if there were no rules then people would just be spamming the threads. good on you freeones moderators!! still and always the best website on the net!!!
