Remakes

I was gonna post the same thing a few weeks ago, wrote it all out then changed my mind for some reason.

What is your opinion on remakes?

It depends. What are the reasons behind it? If the original is **** but has potential, then a remake is good. If it's remaking a perfectly good film just for money, then I **** it.

What are the remakes you would love to see made?

The Lion King, but live action. Replace Lions with Vampires, and Africa with Post-apocalyptic Russia. Come on, you KNOW that sounds awesome.

Which remakes were worthy to see?

There are too many to list. My favourites would probably be King Kong (he put some real effort into it, and lets face it, it was DYING to be remade) and The Departed

Which remakes were a ******** to the original?

Tooooo many!

Maybe The Running Man could be interresting for a remake. The remake, without Arny, should improve easily on the original. :dunno:

I don't know, it might be pretty funny to watch people's reaction to the end of that movie and the subsequent end of Mr. Smith's career.

Thats true. So maybe if it does get made it might just be a blessing in disguise.

But if I had a choice to greenlight or not, I would choose not the films to good for the Hollywood treatment, but as you say if it gets rid of the deplorable Will Smith im all for it :D

the new battlestar galactica is a ******** to the original show

rubbish. it's a complete new story and the maturation of characters is far above average (st. the original show lacks of). i won't blame you for your taste but your argument is just unfair to the new battlestar series.

I don't know,but if I ever hear that Hollywood has plans to re-make National Lampoons' ****** House,The Blues Brothers,Bullitt,The Great Escape,Caddyshack,Stripes,Dirty Harry (any of them),The Outlaw Josey Wales,Pulp Fiction,or GoodFellas,I'm headed out West with a 30.06 and a scope.

You read it here first.

Premium Link Upgrade - bollywood version of E.T ( its terrible but couldn't come up with anything else )

Did they get permission for remake from the creators of E.T. otherwise it would be severe ********* of copyright laws?

i **** most remakes. it just proves that the filmakers are arrogant to think they can better a masterpiece, and greedy to cash in on it. meanwhile all the independant film makers can't get funding, despite having thought of their own ORIGINAL plot!

Some Remakes are good depending on how well they are done my Favorite remake was
Halloween and My least Favorite was The Day the Earth Stood Still.

What is your opinion on remakes?

Depending on what it is, and the trailer. Sometimes I look forward to them, sometimes I just roll my eyes. It just really depends on if the material can be improved upon, and how it's executed.

What are the remakes you would love to see made?

Not too many.

Creature from the Black Lagoon, Swamp Thing, Forbidden Planet, and Robocop would peak my interest.

Friday the 13th, and The Wolf Man I am certainly looking forward to.

Which remakes were worthy to see?

John Carpenter's The Thing, Scarface, Dawn of the Dead, 3:10 to Yuma, The Blob, Halloween, The Hills have Eyes, Dark Water, Cape Fear, and The Fly are all solid remakes.

Which remakes were a ******** to the original?

Planet of the Apes comes to mind. Get Carter, Alfie, Psycho, Poseidon, Godzilla, House of Wax, Stepford Wives, The Island of Dr.Moreau, The Wicker Man, Rollerball, and DEFINATELY The Fog also suck huge floppy donkey balls.

I'll say this i never, ever liked the original series. the new version of Battlestar is smart, deep, dark, violent, sexy, everything the original series was. In fact the new Battlestar is one of the greatest sci-fi shows, ever, if not in fact the best sci-fi show, ever!

Robocop is being remade into a more hardcore film. Huh?! the original scored an X rating thanx to gore, how can make it more hardcore? What is Robo gonna fuck a chick w/ his metal dick?

I HATED Godzilla! Terrible movie! I actually enjoyed House of Wax. It has nothing to do with the originally really, but it does work as a slasher, I think.

I think that was the original ending.

Actually, I really have no idea how HARDCORE the remake of Robocop is supposed to get, but if Darren Aronofsky is at the helm, I'll check it out. Though I dont hold out much hope on Robo fucking unless it's Pre-Robo-Murphy laying down the pipe.

I watched it long enough to see Paris Hilton get ******. After that, I turned it off, and went to bed. That's all I wanted to see anyways. :D

Remakes worth watching:
Invasion of The Body Snatchers (1978)
Dawn of The Dead
The Ring
The Last House on The Left (i guess most people don´t even know that the story is taken from Ingmar Bergman´s "Jungfrukällan" (The Virgin Spring))

Remakes that never should have been made:
Psycho
The Haunting
Planet of The Apes

And now some retard have come up with the idea to do a remake of Suspiria. That´s got to be the worst idea ever (but a great way to seriously **** off every true horror fan in the world).

Last I heard Natalie Portman was producing the Suspiria remake. What a load of ****. I like her and all, but that bit of news pissed me the fuck off.

What is your opinion on remakes?

Big Trouble in Little China
Beverly Hills cop (with the cast of scrubs)
escape from new york (announced)
total recall
toxic avenger
Which remakes were worthy to see?
brewsters millions
dawn of the dead
the departed
halloween
scarface
the thing
true lies
Which remakes were a ******** to the original?
charlie and the choc factory
day of the dead
and those shitty teen asian horror remakes

Remakes don't do it for me, especially in horror, since the originals are always better.

I used to **** remakes. I would bitch about everyone and wonder why they couldnt make anything new anymore. But then I noticed something, whenever they do make something original you get **** like "Paul Blart Mall Cop" So in light of this, I would rather watch remade classics than some of the original **** that they come up with now and think people will actually watch.

I like i said before i just take them for what they are and enjoy the ideas of the new director. But all in all i would rather the all the moive companys come up with some new ideas!! Instead of doing the same flims over and over.
Cuase its really sad that they are really running out of concept's for moives. Its just utter **** being put out by some of the big names !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
