Adult Site & Studio History Thread — Closures, Rebrands, Ownership Changes and Site Evolution

Over the years, a huge number of adult sites and studios have:

• Shut down completely
• Changed ownership
• Rebranded under new names or domains
• Had their content libraries acquired and redistributed
• Quietly disappeared without announcement

This thread is for documenting and discussing those changes — and for capturing the knowledge and experiences that I'm sure many of our users here have, before that history fades from memory.

I’m especially interested in:

• Sites or studios that no longer exist
• Ownership changes
• Domain/name changes
• Content that was repackaged or redistributed elsewhere
• Approximate dates of closures, sales or transitions
• Old screenshots
• "Lost media" — scenes or content that were once available but now seem to have vanished***
• Domain history oddities (old brands that now redirect somewhere completely unrelated)

***Note: The "lost media" angle is about documenting history — not requesting, sharing, or trading copyrighted material that can’t be obtained legally.

More broadly, it would also be interesting to discuss:

• Major design changes over time (classic layouts vs modern redesigns)
• Your favorite sites/studios (past & present)
• The evolution of distribution models — from magazines, late-night TV and VHS… to DVDs, Blu-rays… to streaming platforms and subscription-based creator platforms (ie. OnlyFans)
• Regional differences (US vs Europe vs Japan, etc.)
• "Golden age" periods for certain genres
• Old affiliate programs or networks that disappeared
• How increasing age-verification requirements are affecting ease of access in different regions

The industry has evolved massively — not just in ownership and branding, but in format and presentation. For example, older video and DVD releases often had distinctive box art and branding, whereas many modern web releases don’t have the same kind of visual identity. That alone changes how certain eras are remembered and catalogued.

It would also be interesting to hear whether people prefer "the old days" or the current landscape — and what specific pros and cons stand out in hindsight.

Even partial recollections or rough dates are useful as others may be able to help piece information together.
