******** Problems...

Chef - Let me just add that, although you are a chef, you may not be eating a well balanced diet, that and, as others had offered, you should be burning calories. If you're eating hot dogs, BBQ potato chips, fudgesicles, frozen burritos & pizza all chased down with a 2L of **** - (not a conviction - an "if")
That's a problem ! Crap calories !

Start off easy ! Fruit only after dinner !
Too many people just stuff it with junk ! Eating right doesn't have to be a tedious exercise.

Tylenol PM is over medicating for most because it includes acetaminaphen [sic]. Bad for you every night !! There's single substance ***** aids available without the pain killers.

Call Again For Further Council If Necessary Anytime !

I can't ***** until 4:30 sometimes 5:00 AM. I game all night and cat-*** for 10 minutes during the day and I'm refreshed, except for the black rings around my eyes, general lack of interest in most things, lethargy, and weight loss (and the mental picture of Ed Norton in Fight Club or Christian Bale in The Machinist) I'm sound as a pound!

I have a rare disorder that prevents me from ******** for more than two hours at a time. I ***** as much in a week as a normal person should ***** in a single night. I don't have problems falling ****** when I'm tired, but I always **** up an hour or two later- feeling fully rested, alert, and ready to go.

I've had this "problem" my whole life. When I was a ***, my parents took me to see doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists, etc.- but no one had an answer. As an adult, I attended a couple of ***** studies at a local university... long and the short of it, I finally got (some kind of) an answer for a grad student: I have a "hyperreactive reticular activating system." The reticular activating system, it turns out, is a section of the brain responsible for waking us up- particularly responsible for waking us up rapidly in times of emergency (smelling smoke, hearing a scream, hearing your name called repeatedly, etc.). My RAS is, apparently, always on- always waking me up.

I just deal with it. I go to bed at 10pm, I **** up at midnight most nights. I have a lot more time to do the things I want to do.

Like surf the internet and post annoyingly long and detailed messages on Freeones.

I suffer from insomnia too

The point is not to worry about it too much.I have recently taken to waking up in the small hours so I make myself a ***** and read a book. After a while the book falls from my hand and when I **** up it's daylight. It's no good trying to go to *****, that's not the way it works.

Chef, I'd see a doctor.
I'm thinking a short script of Ambien (or it's like) would likely get you re-regulated, and thus break up the vicious cycle - but again that call is best left to a medical professional.

There has to be a number of long term health issues here, living off a 14 - 16 hour weekly ***** tally.

It was my understanding that one who consistently lacks *****, besides having more accidents / errors in judgment , is a candidate for a premature (30's - 40's ) stroke, especially for those who have high ***** pressure or are overweight Reason, as I had heard - The brain has more difficulty receiving req'd oxygen levels. :dunno:

Just what I have heard.

IMO I'd go to a shrink first, before a GP. Worry, anxiety, panic are all things that a shrink can help you with - by extended talk therapy and ***** for the short term.

My guess, assuming it's not a physical issue, is that there are deep concerns that your head is trying to get you to address.

As facetious just said, the lack of ***** is making is worse, which is making your lack of ***** worse - you are in a cycle and need some help to break it.

Don't go the ******** route. I've never ever ever understood why the Anglo-Amer-Irish-Aussie crowd is so obsessed with ********, talking about ********, encouraging ******** and joking about being ***** like a badge of honour. ******** will not - I promise you - help you in any way at all.

I had a similar discussion on another (********) board, lol. I guess Simply ***** (by Tylenol) is the only ***** suplement that is not harmful. I could be wrong, so correct me if I am.

******** is quite lovely. If you can control it, that is. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, like the euphoria you get from 4-6 cold (or warm ones :)) on an empty stomach. Nothing compares. However, when it starts to control you or make you feel sick, or disturbs your ******** patterns, is when it becomes something of an issue. But if I had to do it all over again, I would choose to have never had a ***** in my life. It has caused me too much trouble.

What kind of hours do you work Chef?

You should get morning shifts. I know that sounds stupid, but eventually your ***** pattern will change.

Well, I was working insane hours (usually 8am - 2am, every day of the week except Tuesday), but things are slow during the winter months at restaurants, so I'm not working much right now. You think that has something to do with it? Change of schedule? :dunno:

********* does the trick. a bowl before bed time a warm shower close your eyes and you'll be out like a baby.

Whatever you do, just don't ***** the MJ. use it for medicinal reasons only

try being a stressed college student w/ a bad roommate...

• "GP" - "Gereral Practicioner" ?

If correct, it's funny that you mention that. My late ****** was a G.P.
The G.P. is getting to be among dinosaurs here in the states, as medicine has gone mostly all "specialty".

Anyway, my habits finally caught up to me and I got a DWI resulting in 7 days of Sentence to Serve - basically hard labor/community service. Needless to say, after digging dirt all day after the first day, not to mention the rest of the week, I was out like a baby, nightly, without ******* or any other substance for that matter.

[ . . . There's no way you can't ***** if you break your body down.[/quote]

We must exhaust both mind and body.

• If your PC is a trap . . Gaming, Surfin, Chat Roomin' etc., do reevaluate how better your time can be spent.
By "trap" I mean . .. ... it's an easy excuse to sit down and mesmerize ourselves with virtually the whole world right in front of us, huh ?

Never hesitate redirecting a career for yourself if it is feasable / affordable.

It's just so easy said, isn't it ?

- Take Care ~

I don't think you need professional treatment unless this is totally ruining your life. It's normal to get stressed dealing with life. If it's chronic, and really impedes your entire life, I would get help.

I find when I can't *****, it's stress induced because of some out of the ordinary experience that I will have to start to accept before I completely get back into my routine.
