I have had a playstation since the first one came out and I just bought the PS3 a month ago. I was going to buy the xbox, and then when I saw that it was only 100 dollars more for a blue ray player and I would be able to play all my old games I went for it. So far it is awesome.

Same here except that i don't got the PS3 yet.

ill buy it if it was cheaper in denmark it cost 5000 (local valuta) ore 1000$ and the games 500/100$...

Now that blu ray seems like it won the new HD format wars I'm looking into getting one...the question I have is there a major difference between the 40GB, 60GB or 80gb models?....do they all have play have backward capability to play PS1 and PS2 games....can you access the home network on all three models?...
I also have a PSP and do all models of the PS3 work with the PSP

yes all models work with psp /home but the ps 1/2 games it depends on what game it is and if its on the compatability list but backwards compatability is quietly being forgotten about on there part

40GB is not backward compatible
60GB is 100% backward compatible (they are hard to find since they dont make them anymore)
80GB is around 80% backward compatible (unlike 60GB which has a ps2 parts in it this one runs PS2 games on emulation)

right now the 40GB comes with Spiderman 3 on Blu-Ray and 80GB comes with the game Motorstrom.

a few tips If you get one :)

-porn looks and sounds awesome on Blu-Ray
-Uncharted Drakes Fortune is a must own game
-If you wait till June theres a bundle! 80GB ps3 with a rumble controller and Metal Gear Solid 4 for $499.
-Free Online Gaming rocks!
