The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired defensemen Matt Carle and Ty Wishart along with San Jose’s first-round pick in 2009 and its fourth-round pick in 2010 in exchange for defensemen Dan Boyle and Brad Lukowich today, owners Oren Koules and Len Barrie announced.

Matt Carle is good and i don't know about Ty, but either way, i'm not happy with losing Lukowich and Boyle

I liked Dan a lot , Brad Lukowich was one of our worst defenceman . That being said , Matt Carle is a great young player and Ty Wishart is a great great prospect . Getting San jose's first round pick in 2009 is a nice bonus . All in all , I think this deal is going to help the lightning in the long run .

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Jaromir Jagr has left the NHL to play in Russia

GOODBYE GOOD RIDDENS!! I couldn't stand that guy ever since he would salute the crowd after he scored a goal.. I was always hoping an opposing d-man would knock his block off the next shift.. I always dreaded the day I would hear rumors that gaygr was coming to play in detroit.. thank the devil I don't have to worry about that anymore..

just out of curiousity why were they so eager to move boyle??? :dunno:

that maybe true and for the new managments sake I hope its true!! why did they trade away a blue chip d-man in boyle that could help them now and for many years to come?? I don't understand that move unless boyle was unhappy in tampa?? :dunno: :hatsoff:

The reason they traded Boyle is plain and simple : To save money .

its new managment & they were adding all these players spending alot of money to revitalize the team and make them a legitmate contender; why would they all the sudden kind of fall back a notch to save money? (I know you can't answer that directly; I just wanted to know how you felt? if its that was the right move if you will) if they would've kept boyle they would have been that much better.. I don't know much about boyle; being from detroit and not really following the eastern conference; but he was certainly spoken highly of by the NHL analysts covering all the action on and since 7/1 as being a big part of tampa's defense.. :dunno::hatsoff:

Maple Leafs news/upcoming season:

--Center and injury-proned Mikhail Grabovski finally settled on a massive one-year contract to stay in Toronto.
--37-year old Mats Sundin remains unrestricted and unyoung.
--Refilling their pens, the Leafs front office also re-signed center Dominic Moore to an extensive one-year deal, along with slightly longer deals for rookies John Mitchell and Greg Scott.
--After finishing 5th in the Northeast Division last year, Toronto hopes to finish higher this year, which ought to prove hard. Chances are, they'll be waiving to the rest of the league from the back seat.

With Boyle and lukowich on the roster , they had a total of more than 54 million in salary . The big problem they had is that Stamkos hasn't yet signed his entry contract and they are supposed the resign Evgeny Artuikin soon , so that would have put them over the cap . Also they had to take in consideration the fact that Lecavalier's salary is going to be more next year and for a long time .

I was alot of fun to watch . I remember that time when he took off a sanator's player helmet and hit him with it :1orglaugh it was hilarious . Of course he got suspended for that but still it showed he's a very intense player . I can't wait to see how much he has improved the last few years playing in Russia .

the Canadiens signed Marc Denis. they will be sadly disappointed with that move.

He won't be playing in Montreal... he's gonna be the starter in Hamilton next year, he signed a 2-way contract... so if something happen to Price or Halak, they will recall him...

Pretty happy with my habs signing big Georges Laraque... first time in years that Montreal will have a true policeman in their lineup.
