Ha...Barry Melrose gets hired. I wonder why he waited all these years to get back behind the bench? :dunno:
Vincent Lecavalier is very close to signing a 9 years 77 million $ contract with the Lightning :nanner: . So that will put him at 37 years old when his contract expires . I think it's really cool because he's going to have a 8.5 million a year salary so it looks like he decided to get less money to help tampa get better players . Way to go Vinny !!

Crosby did ... Fleury only signed a 2-year deal two years ago, and they're talking over a long-term deal right now. The Penguins filed for arbitration on him a few weeks ago, so it could get pushed to next summer if necessary. There's also talk of the Penguins signing Malkin long term this summer as well. I've also read that Gary (WWGRD) Roberts is definitely gone, Marian Hossa is all but gone, and Ryan Malone is a big-time tossup. :2 cents::bowdown:
hockey players are respectable. Marc Andre Fleury and Sidney Crosby also took lower amounts of money to help their team. would any baseball or football player do that?

Are contracts in the NHL guaranteed for the entire time they list like baseballs are. If they are 9 years is a eternity for contract length in pretty much any sport at the present time. That's a pretty big risk. If something goes wrong it can be a sink on the teams resources for a long time.
what does everyone think of the rangers situation? do you really think the NHL will get rid of them? i think it's kinda silly, the NHL is just butthurt.
sorry, i didnt mean get rid of them as in the rangers, i meant get rid of them as, in taking the franchise away from the dolans.Where'd you hear THAT? That is just absurd!

So Tampa Bay has acquired the rights to Ryan Malone and Gary Roberts. Malone i think is a good addition, although Roberts may be past his prime.
Just the negotiating rights. Malone has stated he will wait until July 1st before talking contract. But it does give them exclusive negotiating rights to try and convince him.
hell, we might as well go for Hossa too![]()
