North Korea/South Korea

Is it just me, or would anyone else like to see us just get this over with... Jesus, after 60 years of shooting off at the mouth, let's wipe these assholes from the face of the earth already.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: They should have let Mac nuke them in '51 like he wanted.... :dunno:

They do have some MiG29 variants, but I bet they've got fuck all flight time in them and I don't know if they have any AWACS. Regardless, they won't be top quality MiG29 variants and they won't know how to use 'em right, which means you were right; they'll get creamed.

They do, but with the amount of training they get, they could be flying Su-47s and 37s and it wouldn't matter a whole lot.

No arguements, if NK chooses to push south, they'll be using last decades hardware... BUT if China or Russia supply even third generation hardware as a 'sestabilizing influence' the capital is a stone's throw from the DMZ. And the civilians don't have even fourth generation armaments (oh to have more countries... and yes that includes the US, like Isreal) do they?

Sadly, a twisted little man apparently bent on extending some new monarchy on the backs of his people will, i suspect, without a second thought risk killing thousands of innocents to demonstrate a point. And I am skeptical as to whether we will step in.

If you are China it's a perfect test bed before jumping across the strait to 'retake Taiwan.'

And maybe most frightening, unlike the rock throwing terrorists who occassionaly manage to fill a diaper with PETN (right order of letters?) NK has nukes.

Suffice to say no east asian travel plans for my family. Frankly, I am staying home and checking the ammunition and food stores! But I hope the country where tactial role playing video games are a national sport can outmaneuver the little squirrel in the dark glasses!

Good points. And somebody tell Vodka that the Zulus beat the hell out of the British with spears. Yeah Britain eventually won, but look at the cost.

America should just let them fight themselfs, We are spread too thin all over the world right now, Bring our troops back home already! What if another disaster happens here, whos coming to help us? Right?

They do what? You're saying they get a lot of flight time? I wasn't aware that their military budget could cover a lot of flight time.

Gun beats spear old boy.
Now if you think you can go toe to toe with me in military knowledge, bring it :D

If america doesn't contain it now then it will have to deal with a lot more in the future. Think long term.

Yes it does :)

Please stop putting us all in one box.

I am one of the guys who believe that Armies are actually of some use.

We can't settle everything by sanctioning other countries by trade embargos.

When that fails, you need to send the troops.

Yeah, that's why I think in the very least more european cooperation is need to be done in de Department of Defence.
Altough I did hear that, due to the current crisis, a little bit of cooperation is about to happen. On the other hand though, WEU failed completely too...
(But that's because it was just an attempt of France to get political control over the rearmement of Germany, which they didn't want.)

Oh and about there beaing no interest in N/S Korea, I think it is. It would upset the current status quo and things could be set in motion. Either way China, or Japan would feel more threatened. (An Japan has a defense treaty with the US and is almost completely dependent on them.)

But indeed there is nothing to see here, It's just Kim Jong Il who is teaching Machiavelli to his son.

Here is what I don't understand about the whole situation:

1. South Korea has an island.
2. North Korea says that the island is theirs.
3. South Korea knows North Korea claims the island.
4. North Korea attacks South Korea's island.
5. South Korea responds by calling America and holding military drills close to the area that North Korea says belongs to them.

Does this not seem like unneccessary provocation? I mean, if I had a hornet's nest on the back porch of my house and one stung me, I don't respond by showing off the size of my dick two feet away from the nest; I respond by blowing the hornet's nest up with a missile from 2000 miles away.

Americans are known for doing dumb shit and sticking their nose in other people's business. :( When they bring back that draft, I may very well desert to Thunder Bay, PT. :elaugh:

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
don't worry Sarah Palin is on it:
Obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies. We're bound to by treaty...

That is exactly, why I have the hots for that chick!
:love-smi:

You mean the fact that you could give her a "donation" of $10,000 by check (if she'd give you a blowjob), you'd sign your name Daph E. Duck and she'd be dumb enough to start polishing your knob?

As much as I make fun of the Nitwit Queen, yeah... that is an endearing quality. :lovecoupl

You know someone that bat---- crazy would pwn you in bed. Until it fell off. And then keep pwning it while you bled out.

Back on topic, WTF is with NK? I know the "experts" have expected stuff to happen given the apparent transition of power going on, but this doesn't even make sense from the "flexing muscles" point of view. I mean, it's one thing to launch a few missile tests to show your potential capability, but a direct attack???

In a new twist it seems that the North has a new ally.
Shame on Palin; I expected her to support her country's troops!

Sarah Palin is now officially a hero of North Korea.
RomartusAdded by Romartus

PYONGYANG, North Korea -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) have welcomed Sarah Palin's support and have offered her a military alliance to defend Alaska against "warmonger" Seoul.

Palin made the overture to the North on Wednesday on the Glenn Beck Show. The host reminded Palin that South Korea is the one that the U.S. is allied with--reportedly, in a matter of seconds--but that was enough time for the North to translate, and plan a festival season around, the show of solidarity from the North's traditional enemy.

In an official communique broadcast live in North Korea to a barrage of shells fired in the direct of "capitalist running dog" South Korea, the government in Pyongyang said they expected a future President Palin would join a Chinese-North Korean-USA alliance against "Evil Japan," "False Korea" and "Rebel Taiwan."

The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea under the eternal guidance of Great Leader and his illustrious family welcome Sarah Palin as ally of the proletariat. Her true voice has now been revealed and she has shown great courage to defy the Fascist Axis of Fox News, the Daily Show and Barack Obama. Our country has offered military solidarity with Sarah Palin if her home state of Alaska is attacked by the snake tongued False Korean dictatorship in Seoul.

Officially sanctioned translations of Sarah Palin's books are now on sale in the North Korean capital. Some of the titles Palin has apparently written may come as a surprise to the Republican Party and Tea Party movement. They include Wearing Rouge in Honor of the Korean Socialist Proletariat and The Thoughts and Writings of Kim il-Sung for the Alaskan Workers and Peasants.

The White House said that Palin's other gaffe might in fact be more problematic--the one, later in the same Glenn Beck Show, where Palin promised that, as President, she would send AWACS radar planes to "our allies in Cuba."
