All the rumor and speculation can finally come to an end.

During Nintendo's presentation in Japan today, the company announced the 3DS will go on sale in Japan on February 26, 2011. The unit will cost 25,000 yen ($300). The system will be available in Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black.

Nintendo did not provide a release date or price for European and North American territories, but stated those plans will be announced later through Nintendo's overseas branches

I'm not really surprised if the price is either between $250 - $300 here in the U.S. But I am really excited to be able to try this system and, if impressed, eventually own. A lot of developers have signed on to develop for it and everyone that tried it at E3 walked away very impressed. Can't wait!!!

I can't wait till it gets here. Though 3D normally makes me fell quite ill. I'm hoping since it's not a big screen movie thing I'll be able to buy 3. lol My kiddies need them too.

They can't really do that because this is a lot more powerful than the regular DS. I'd say it's between the PS2 and PS3 in terms of graphical power. Also, if you don't want to use the 3D on it, you can turn it off

The 3D thing is adjustable. And thank gawd I got a job at a sex shop to be able to afford it if it costs more than $250.

Price and date

Nintendo said today it will launch the 3DS in the United States on March 27, 2011 for $249.99.

Folks in Europe can get their hands on the device a few days earlier on March 25. Nintendo said European pricing will be set by retailers. HMV and GAME list the 3DS price at £229.99, while Play has it listed for £219.99.

Not surprised really by the price, to be honest. I'm still picking it up

Zelda Ocarina of Time in action though not in 3D, obviously. Has slightly updated graphics

I am all over this fucking system. Seriously, I haven't been this excited for a video game system since I was saving up for a PS2 (I had to mow a shit-ton of lawns to get the money for that) Luckily now I can drop $250 pretty easily

I preorder stuff all the time on amazon. They don't charge you till it ships and you get the lowest price if the price changes. So far I haven't had any trouble ordering with them.

I don't trust the delivery guys shipping to my apartment. Sometimes they just leave it in front of my door in the hallway. I'm not trusting that package sitting there while I'm at work.
