I re-read both of these last year. I hadn't read them since school, which is rather more years that I care to mention. They still stand up very well. In a similar vein to 1984, try Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.

I read Brave New World a few years ago; hence I can recommend it without hesitation, because it's a masterpiece of the science-fiction literature!


P.S. One advantage of reading printed books is you can do it for hours, avoiding the eyes irritation that usually happens after a long-time exposure to the screen light of your computer!

Looks like l'm the odd man out, as l don't read books. l'm more of a magazine and newspaper type reading person. Anything to do with farming and such things is what l like to read, especially anything new and innovative.

Pretty boring hey :D

It's not a holiday here in OZ either, l've been pottering around feeding a few sheep and fiddling with the foam marker on the sprayer.

Thats about all the exciting news from this neck of the woods, Nikki :)

That actually sounds kind of awesome. My weekends been crazy. It was so insaely hot that I wasn't going to do anything today except maybe from the pool but one of my best friends from out of state surprised me at my door. That made it a great weekend or headed to be...or so I thought. I mean we took off and were having a great time until last night. Lasst night I learned that I lost a friend of 27 years so I'm kind of not in the mood to celebrate anything or be around people now. Oh Dazza....how I wish I could run away to your ****. I think I mentioned to you guys that I was going to be traveling and kind of nomad for the next couple/few months....and then possibly moving to Canada. So much is up in the air right now. Not sure if thats good or bad yet but I think it's good.

Larss you crack me up. "The treasonous desertion of a colony". Well as bitter as the brits may be about this day, I'm pretty sure the Native Americans have a bigger issue to gripe about. hahahaha. It's really in all honesty a reason for most Americans to just get together and do what they do best, eat too much processed food and ***** and cause colorful explosions that will keep people entertained and fire fighters busy and cops busy handing out DUI's. Oh and upload ******* pics to Facebook and twitter. Since my plans got thrown off course and I don't feel like being around anyone, I'm just trying top decide which fast food place to drive through. Also a very "American" thing to do. That's my contribution. hahaha
