precisely why Lecavalier should never leave this team

I'm pretty sure he would have a tough time playing in montreal. The fans and the media would see him as the savior and expect the team to win the cup each year and if they don't it would be all his fault. In Tampa Vinny can have a private life but in Montreal he wouldn't have one whatsoever.

True.

That's why star players (especially french speaking ones) avoid signing for Montreal. Unless they are feed with pressure like Patrick Roy was. It's not for everyone to live the pressure, insane expectations and adulation players have over here.

By the way, it is still the talk of the town in Montreal... Lecavalier... It's already insane and he is not even here. Imagine if he was here! It's definatly not for everyone...

Nashville is in Montreal to play the Habs tonight and all medias are only talking about Lecavalier...

Hehe :)

Of course, who wouldnt want Vinny on his team?

But if Vinny leaves TB, i fear it's the death of the franchise. Which isnt a good thing for the the NHL. I hope those rumors will end, as well as the media buzz they created in Montreal. I'm pretty tired to hear about Vinny, TB management and owners 24/7 on the sport channels since 10-12 days now...

I'd rather hear about Nashville vs Habs game tonight :dunno:

absolutely. gettring rid of Lecavalier would kill the Lightning. our GM Brian Lawton said today that Lecavalier isn't going anywhere.

while i'm at it, i'd like to see St. Louis, Malone, Artyukhin and Smitty remain on the Lightning forever. (there are others who shouldn't leave either, but those are the main ones)

For me there are 4 untouchables on the Lightning : Vincent Lecavalier
Martin ST.Louis
Mike Smith
Ryan Malone

Strange night in the NHL tonight, isn't it? First the Lightning win 4-1, and then Vancouver loses to Phoenix 4-1 as well. Not a good return for Luongo; hopefully he'll shake off the rust soon so we can catch Calgary.

SCARY note for all you RED WINGS haters!!! Detroit's record is only topped by Boston and San Jose... and Detroit's Defense hasn't even started to clamp down yet!! when they get playoff ready your talkin about a team that will prolly only allow 2 goal against per game, 3 on a bad night!! the RED WINGS have been giving up 3, 4, 5 goals against all season and their record is still amongst the best, and y'all know if the Defense hasn't gelled by the trading deadline Detroit WILL get another Dman too solidify the issue!!!

I think that scary sidenote to the pesky little habbit the RedWings had is starting to disappear! another conks shutout! if I am not mistaken I believe he conks.shares the league lead in shutouts with luongo now? now I know luongo would probably have notched more shutouts if had been playing all this time he's been injured, but conks. is playing great for the wings when osgood was injured and struggling!!

And FINALLY S.J. LOSES IN REGULATION ON HOME ICE FFS!! I have to admit that was a sick run of dominance!! :hatsoff: to the sharks for that feat!! I just got sick of looking @ that 0 losses @ home!! :rofl2:

A big win against a good team.Next game is against Florida and if they win the Lightning will have 40pts just 7 out of a playoffs spot so anything is possible !

it's taken a while, but with a strong steak and some wins over division rivals, we could be right in the playoff hunt. how awesome would that be?

I think this year is going to turn into an edge-of-your-seat affair once the season hits the final stretch. Both conferences have clusterfucks for the 7th and 8th playoff spots. A streak could potentially put a team into the playoffs, or toss them outside.

Example, there are 10 teams in the West that have fourty-something points, and the highest-ranking team (Anaheim), holds on to the fifth playoff spot. Nine points seperates the Ducks from the Kings. A five game streak for someone like LA would stick them right in the middle of the playoff race!

It would be great after all the bad things that happened for Tampa this year to still be in the playoffs . One thing is for sure , they have a great a goalie and that can help a lot in the playoffs. But let's not get ahead of ourselves , there is still a long way to go to be in playoff contention . we'll have to wait and see .

Just heard the news that the Islanders will be hosting their training camp in Saskatoon next year. I hope it's true, they said they would announce it on Monday. It will include two games, against Calgary and Edmonton.

Hope it is not just a rumour, I'm really looking forward to seeing some NHL again.

dammit, man. now Artyukhin is injured after going knee-on-knee with Ville Peltonen. that's another reason we're having a bad year, we're taking a LOT of injuries.
