if you guys care at all, who do you thinks going to get the calder this year? i may be biassed, but so far it looks like henriques the lead candidate so far

It just seems to me that Thomas is just burned out, not to mention the Bruins defense is playing horrid. I know Corvo is my whipping boy for the most part but Chara needs to get his act back together, and that trade for Zanon was a waste they should not have gotten rid of Kampfer. He was young, and could score and knock players around. Also Krecji seems to be the only one that is putting the puck in the net, however the rest of the team needs to get back on track.
I think Kampfer was expendable because of the all around solidity of our D when healthy, and the fact that there's probably not going to be a spot for him in the foreseeable future. Doug Hamilton's pretty much a lock for next year's roster (I can't wait for this kid BTW, he's gonna be a captain someday), and we still have a couple guys in Providence that could step in if needed that have potential (Bartkowski). I liked the Zanon trade. He's not supposed to come in and move the puck and ramp up the PP like Kaberle was supposed to. He's there to block shots and clear out the crease, which he's usually pretty good at. As for the offense... That new top line looks like it has the potential to be flat out dirty. Krejci's hands and vision seem to be finding their way back, and Seguin's presence makes all three of them seem twice as fast. And then you have the best power forward in the league skating through defenders with the puck on the boards in the O-zone. It certainly helps your offensive entry when your winger can just punch a hole into the zone and walk right in with the puck. The Bergeron line was starting to click with Caron over the last few games, til Bergie took a blast on the inside of the knee. Gotta see how that's gonna play out. On the whole, I think they just need a couple of all-around 60 minute efforts in a row and they'll get back on track. Maybe not the way they were in November/December, but definitely better than they've been recently. Lately, one thing or the other has been killing us in games. Either Thomas lets in a softy and it kills our momentum, or Thomas gives up 1 or 2 all game but the offense can't do shit. The fucking injuries aren't helping either.

Sidney Crosby is set to return to action this Thursday vs. the Rangers. Can't believe how well the Penguins played without him. If he's fully recovered Pittsburgh will be the beast in the east.
It's because they have a good team. They always have, but everybody just wants to talk about how Crosby's so fucking great to the point where they actually convince themselves that he's the only reason they ever win games. I'd take Malkin over Crosby in a heartbeat.

I can't argue with Henrique. Guy came out of no where and stepped up huge.

Last night's Bruins game doesn't get any worse than that. Getting blown out by Tampa Bay 6-1, Turco letting in 3 goals within 10 minutes. All bodes ill for the Bruins.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Err I'm getting pissed, I know the Red Wings have been mediocre @ best on the road, but with all these injuries and damn near half of the line up are Grand Rapid Griffins its frustrating watching St.Louis souring to the top of the central & lead the whole league in wins and points, if Detroit didn't have such a cushion when all this stuff started we might've not even made the playoffs, they are playing terrible! I know injuries are part of the game but damn, this is ridiculous, the only good thing is its not in the playoffs. I hope Datsyuk comes back in a hurry, without him, they are flat!! its so frustrating and aggravating.:cussing:

Landeskog and Couturier are up there too. Some people think Henriques chances are hindered because of his linemates.

thats true, but among parise, kovy, and himself, hes the only person with positive time on ice at +15. he actually leads the team in +/-... it may be because of his few games missed, but i was surprised to see that. age may also play a factor as well. either way, its a pretty close race

well... +10 now...

After last nights game, Landeskog has to be the favorite. I know it was only one game, but he took over that game at the end so that Colorado had the opportunity to win. Also is a +19, 45 PIM and tied in points for rookies.

What's up with Boston right now? 6-2 loss to the Panthers and now they're only two points ahead of them for second in the East. Weren't they supposed to be where the Rangers are?

Remember when I said that they were playing alright, but something would get them off their game early on and they just wouldn't be able to get it back all night? Well now they're just flat out playing like shit, pretty much across the board. The only player who seems to give a damn during games is Patrice Bergeron.

The Bruins are just falling apart, Thomas letting in too many soft goals, pathetic attempts at defense, not enough shots at net or goals for that matter. So blame is spread all around even to Claude Julien, I have no idea how he is practicing the team, but it isn't working. All I can say is Boston is horrible and now they have to contend with Philly tomorrow afternoon, and Brzygallaf has been on the tear lately between the pipes. However this may be the fire that get's lit under their ass, I am expecting a very physical game tomorrow. If not I'll post on here again bitching about how much the Bruins suck.

Yeah, I'm thinking Bruins-Flyers on a St. Patrick's day afternoon in Boston is a great game to figure shit out. The crowd's gonna be pretty nuts/halfway hammered and it seems like Boston-Philly games are always competitive. A win would go a long way towards helping their confidence.

Finally the Bruins won a game, granted it took them a shootout, but it's 2 points they certainly needed.
