Hmm Ott a cheap shot artist? I've never heard anybody say that about Ott nor did I know that he has. is. or ever was accused of being a cheap shot artist, yeah sure he's an agitator, huge trash talker, hard checking, balls to the wall player who plays every shift with passion, I think maybe your confused with guys who are known to have a reputation for delivering cheap hits, maybe your thinking about Matt Cooke or Steve Downie who now is in Colorado?

Ok. we can argue about this until we turn blue in the face, again, I never heard that about Ott, guys who go after other guys knee's as a habit are labeled as dirty players, I never heard Ott was dirty, nor a cheap shot artist, maybe there was 1 incident or a couple of incidents where Ott looked like he made a bad hit, but he's not known as a dirty player who is always getting suspended for cheap shit. like Matt Cooke, Steve Downie, and some other shitstains that are known for playing diry. :2 cents:
I mean look @ some of the other guys who make clean hits, then everybody goes after them for delivering a clean check. for example, ie. Kromwall and Stuart lay guys out, and players rush them for clean hits. knee hunting is one thing, hard clean hits are another. :2 cents:
watch the video, he totally low-bridges stephane yelle. B's only play Dallas once a year, so thats all I ever really see of him, but he acts like a total bitch every time. don't get me started on matt cooke.

See you just sort of proved my point, you just admitted you only see him once a year. now how often do hear about Ott getting suspended for a cheapshot.. As a Dallas Star I HATE him because he is so good @ his job, not only does he want your teams players to hate him, but he wants the opposing teams, fans to hate him as well. lol.
The guy drops the gloves when asked too, he's a smart player, he's a beast in the faceoff circle, and he is a team guy just like Lucic is for boston.. sure he pisses you off, thats his job. my point is made.
like I said if he was playing for the bruins you'd love him. :2 cents:I admire a good grinder/agitator. Hartnell, is a great example because he draws the line before being a spineless prick. I don't see what picking fights you have no intention of taking part in when your team is is getting hammered in the 3rd accomplishes (like in the video above). I understand why you like the guy, and we have a pretty good agitator in Boston, but I can't respect a guy who starts shit and then pussies out at the first sign of retribution.

I was busy watching the video.. I love watching games like that. lol. # 1 the very 1st hit on Yelle was right on his hips!!! # 2 they ddin't even show the supposed low hit to lucic they just said it. # 3 those were the Bruins announcers calling the game, of course there gonna have a HOME team bias and attack Ott's character etc.. Who gives out 10 minute misconducts? the referee's did Ott ask for a 10 minute penalty? NO
The Bruins as a rule attack as a team, everybody gets involved, so Ott does some agitating and the bruins respond. understandable!! of course Avery is gonna lose control like he usually does. Avery incited that shit just as much as Ott did. and the bruins are all saints right? none of them are dirty?

If Marchand went low on Salo, then Ott definitely went low on Yelle. The Bruins are definitely not all saints, but they are all accountable, right down to the goalies. Sometimes they pick meaningless fights at the end of losses, which bothers me, but they always finish the fight instead of wussing out. I don't understand why wings fans would want an agitator in general though. The wings aren't really a physical/fighting team and there's not a lot of players to back him up. Seems like his nonsense would just become a distraction to a team that gets it's focus and momentum from pure offense/defense.
One last note.... Ott certainly managed to piss off the Bruins, and look what happened. They got drubbed. Maybe it works against other teams, but it plays right into the Bruins' strength: Don't poke the bear.

So the Kings shipped JJ out for Carter. Damn the Wild could have used a guy like JJ. He must be pissed off though after being a King for so long.
They better hope Carter puts some points up. Their D and goaltending is the only reason they're in playoff contention. Downgrading the blue line is never a good thing.

It doesn't matter, Detroit lost the 09 cup and the following playoff series because they were not physical enough, Ott would add grit and toughness, somebody who draws penalties etc.. He wouldn't be used as a enforcer, our GM Holland is a wuss and won't carry a enforcer, he thinks speed and finesse will suffice, I hate this ideology, but 4 cups in 15 years isn't bad. I loved having Probie, Kocur, McCarty, Grimson, Lapointe, and all the tough guys the Red Wings have had in the past, but if you let teams whip your ass all playoffs long, by the conference finals or the Stanley Cup Finals, a team can't be so worn down it can't perform to the level needed. I hope @ some point Detroit will slowly revert back to being a tough team, but little steps towards that is welcome and long overdue in Detroit. I don't expect you to totally understand me or the Red Wings fans, but Ott would do to other teams what other teams have been doing to us. wear us down, and in the end being enough of a presence to influence / sway the momentum back to us. See the reason Detroit got Quincey back is, Brad Stuart may opt to sign with a West Coast team since he never moved his family too Detroit, because of his kids school situations, and Lidstrom may be retiring, he prolly won't but there is a chance.
So the plan is to pick up Suter in the off season via UFA and Weber in 2013 as a UFA. Detroit is already arranging the cap space etc.. to be the highest bidders no matter what!!! So if everything goes down like that were slowly turning back into a tougher team. baby steps.. well that's the way I think its gonna happen. and from what I hear from all of the grapevine rumors I get. that is welcome news!! GO RED WINGS!!!
