Jesus, the Oilers-Wild game is about to be a riot. Must have been close to a dozen penalties called in in the 1st alone. I'm hoping we get to see some bench clearing shit between these two sub-par squads.

Fuck yeah! Hawks looked great in the 1st period today. Smitty got his first goal and Soupy and Seabs both found the net. A win on Sunday would leave us at #7 and set up a series with San Jose against Niemi. It would be great to boot his ass out of the playoffs this year.

Tim Thomas set the new record for best save percentage in the regular season today with a .9382%.

And to think at the beginning of the year people didn't even bloody want to trade for him.

An American too. Shit just don't seem right without a French Canadian leading in such a category between the pipes. Three of the top 5-6 goalies in the world right now are American - Quick, Miller and Thomas.

Tampa...wow. Smitty stops 42 of 44 shots and the Lightning pound the Hurricanes 6-2.

as a result, the Rangers make the playoffs.

Congrats to the UMD Bulldogs on winning their first NCAA DI national championship. Although they are a rival of my Huskies, it's good to see the title come back to the home of hockey, Minnesota and a squad of 17 MN natives. Nice OT victory. :hybrid:

I have totally lost track of the playoff situation in the West. So damn crowded, depending on whether or not Chicago wins their last game it can all be switched around as well. Anaheim has got the fourth seed, which I didn't see coming. Nashville should be able to beat them. Phoenix won't likely made it out of the first round, nor will Los Angeles.

The Red Wings beat the Blackhawks 4-3, so it comes down to the Stars game later to decide the Blackhawks' fate in the playoffs.

Detroit will face the Coyotes in the first round, exactly like last year.

Figures the Pens would win today to finish tied with the Flyers...since it doesn't matter anyway...Flyers had the tie breaker Well, we're playing pretty good even without Crosby (who might be back) and Malkin (who is definitely out)! 1st round (starts Wednesday or Thursday...TBA) is with Tampa Bay. I give the edge on offense (depending on Crosby coming back) to Tampa, and on defense and in net to the Pens. Should be a pretty good match up!

Come on Stars tonight!!!! Hossa staying home for the playoffs.....priceless!!!

Chicago laid an egg today at home against Detroit. They have nobody to blame but themselves for that.

But if the Hawks miss the playoffs, I'm going to dropkick a baby. I guess I'm a Minnesota fan tonight.

I just realized Boston is going to be facing Montreal in the first round. That is going to be a great series.
