Maybe, that sounds about right, lol, but I got BAD news for PENGUINS fans, me thinks CROSBY will NEVER be the same player again, Me thinks he comes back timid, afraid, and Me thinks if he gets hit hard again or figure worst case scenario, he suffers another concussion anytime soon, we may have seen the best Crosby has too offer, he may become another Lindros Concussion Baby, No offense Eric Lindros were still friends, I am only speaking about E. Lindros's downfall and career ending plague he had with Concussion Syndrome everytime he gets hit REALLY hard. :2 cents: and lets not forget, Crosby is NOT the abrasive player that Lindros was so everytime he gets hit he's gonna have bad memories. This is just my opinion, but, I think this is gonna haunt Crosby for the rest of his career. :uohs:

Even on a smaller scale, if he returns for the playoffs I can't see Crosby playing anywhere near the level he was before the concussions. He might claim to be coming back at 100%, but I think there is a big difference between Crosby at 100% and the Crosby that was playing at the beginning of the year.

If he does return for the playoffs, I also have to wonder what effect it will have on the games. Will the opposing team be wary of hitting him or will they go after him knowing they are more likely to win if they take him out? Will the Penguins have to spend the majority of their time protecting their best player? All questions that will be answered, I suppose.

30 years ago the staff and players would've given Crosby a good swift kick in his ass if he tried to sit down because of a concusion. Sports just ain't the way they used to be. I understand all the medical advise and so on, but the reality is that our former athletic heros were much tougher and fought through so much more for the love of the game. :2 cents:

Hell, Aikman must have had a minimum of 6 concusions but he never sat out for more than a week or two. And the saddest reality is that the modern athlete makes so much more than the old guard it's all just pitiful.

Given the knowledge the sporting world has gained about concussions in the past few years (See: Benoit, Chris) I think it is understandable that we look upon concussions differently.

I think any and every team will target Crosby!! The penguins are gonna have a hell of a problem when he returns, teams are gonna go after crosby, the penguins have got too protect there best player, so I see a game within the game, temperament and composure, the penguins are cursed and haunted. From now until crosby either flourishes or folds, the new way to beat or atleast keep the penguins @ bay is by making them chase you for going after crosby, hell if I was an opposing player I'd be all over crosby!! every chance I got I'd run him, some players will do so legally and some will be dirty about it, oh and crosby is gonna take a verbal shellacking every time he steps onto the ice, Welcome to post concussion play sid! :elaugh:

I'm fairly positive that if any team decided to target Crosby as their strategy Bettman would immediately move the team to Phoenix.

So be it, if crosby is in the NHL he's gonna be as vulnerable as any other superstar, did bettman change the rules when Lindros was being targeted? or any other superstar for that matter? sure the authorities that be will try and curve some of the heat, but, like it or not, crosby will have a bulls-eye on his back (or should I say his head) :elaugh: You tell me how, without looking intently obvious, that the NHL powers that be are NOT tampering with the way the NHL was meant to be played, if crosby gets any special treatment or any special rules enforced because teams try to exploit his new weakness, why do you think teams, coaches, players try and hide there players/teams injuries during the playoffs? not just because the player won't be 100% productive, its too keep the other team from exploiting that injury/weakness and target it. :2 cents:

No, the Penguins will just goon up in the off season and there will be some dead players next year if they target little Sindy. :)

Exactly its gonna happen this year in these playoffs if cindy plans on playing!! like I said in my earlier post, its gonna come down to a game within a game (Temperament and Composure) teams are gonna target Cindy, and the penguins will have too defend him, how do you get a team off its game??? You go after there players, especially a player the likes of cindy coming off of a concussion. The penguins will be so busy either trying to defend him or seeking retribution on any player that touches him, that penguin games are gonna be a marathon of composure to see who will prevail, I am NOT a fan of penguins to say the least, but I for one will be like a fat kid eating cake watching penguins games when cindy returns cuz the games are gonna get NASTY!!! :D:elaugh:

P.s. I think bringing crosby back for this years playoffs will be a HUGE mistake, not only does the intensity pick up in the playoffs, but every team will be looking to exploit any teams weakness and crosby will be subjected to even rougher play in the playoffs then if he were to comeback during the regular season which only has a week left in it, and that's not enough time for any player to acclimate himself too playing @ NHL speed... let alone @ and into playoff intensity!! best too sit out until next year or he's gonna be shark bait...

Yeah, But what is Aikman going to be doing in the next ten years? Sitting in his house trying to remember who he is. Because we now know that concussions can mess up your life.

If players were tougher for playing through injuries, they were also dumber. Players gots to look out for themselves before the team.

And why are people calling him Sindy? Is that a typo or are your panties still in a bunch from the Olympics?

Yeah you got me, my undies are still in a bunch, NOT because of the Olympics either, to be completely on honest with you, I could careless about the Olympics, I don't know how the players themselves feel, but, NHL Hockey is way more important too me than the Olympics.. :dunno:

I'm still pissed about the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals...

I cope with it, I have too accept it, it happened, its history and it won't change no matter how much I hate it, but it doesn't mean I have to like crosby or the penguins, Ok admit I like Staal, Talbot, Orpick, Kovalev, and Fluery... But I hate crosby, kennedy and Malkin the most!!

Seriously? You ever watch his commentary on Fox? He's as sharp as anyone in the biz right now.

Yeah.. and that's right now... But I can tell you all those concussions are slowly 'eating' away his brain even now or in the next 5 years.. and in 10-15 years you'll hear about how bad he has gotten... I hope it doesn't happen to they guy, but odds are against him

I don't see it. As long as he doesn't get ALS and he doesn't turn to a vegetable, I don't see what the problem is. Maybe you are right, but only time will tell.

The last couple of games are going to be pretty suspenseful, teams making the playoffs, teams not making the playoffs, the number one team in the east changing, and it coming down to the final game to decide the final standings and matchups for the playoffs.

Also, who would have thought that the team that made the playoffs by a shootout victory and ended the season in eigth place, would make it to the Stanley Cup Finals last year.

This year, like every year at the beginning of the playoffs I will choose two teams from the west and then two teams from the east who I think will make it to the Conference finals. With everything so close, I'm going to make my decisions when everything is set-up match wise.

The Flyers were actually the seventh seed last season. They did clinch playoffs with their shootout victory over the Rangers on the last game of the season, but les Canadiens were the eighth seed, remember? They upset the Capitals in the first round and then upset the Penguins in the second round. The Flyers upset the Devils in the first round and then came back from being down 3-0 against the Bruins in the series and being down 3-0 in Game 7 to win the second round. And amazingly enough, the Ottawa Senators were actually the fifth seed last season! Quite the fall for them, and with nothing good looking forward.

Congrats to the UMD Bulldogs enroute to the NCAA finals today. Alma mater of one of the greatest of all time, Brett Hull. 17 MN natives on the squad looking for the school's first national championship this Saturday.
