How many of these young studs are they going to lose to free agency?

From what I hear there isn't any one real superstar player coming out into the draft this year. Not too familiar with Canadian or European Junior hockey and prospects so I can't comment sufficiently on the matter.

As far as the Oilers losing critical components to free agency, I suppose it could happen, even though they sell every seat every game, sort of like the Wild.

the draft is weak this year. they should trade the pick. they also need a few veterans to mentor hall, eberle and so on.

they are skilled players but they arent team players.

I'm not saying they'll be loaded with superstars or anything, I just feel like it'll be Chicago 2.0 4-5 years from now. 1st line players on 2nd and 3rd line.

As long as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Montreal, Detroit, Washington, and Chicago get knocked out of the playoffs I will be happy, also it is time for me to grow my playoff beard.

I'm still debating if I am going to attend the NHL draft this year since it is literally about 3 miles from the very place I am posting this right now at the X. At the very least I figure I could spend the afternoon at the X and get shit hammed watching it unfold, even though I think few Americans are supposed to be hot commodities. I will most likely be there.

I'm sure our dear friend rodfarva will have more than enough to opine on the subject when he chimes back in.

Go Wings!!! They ain't going down to phoneyix. I heard from a friend their move to Winnipeg is pretty much a done deal. Any truth to this?

Greaaat game in Vancouver tonight. Non-stop, hard-hitting, fast-paced throw-your-weight-around action. My kind of stick. Hawks on the verge of stuffing one in at any moment. Imagine if the Hawks still had Big Buff. Fucking dumbies.

Go Wings.....not sure about the Jets coming back...would be nice

A study was released yesterday claiming Canada could play home to twelve NHL teams: another team each in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, and returns to Winnipeg, Quebec and Hamilton. Other cities that could host a team could potentially be Kitchener, London, Saskatoon and Halifax.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?

Not to be an A$$, but I think the NHL needs too downsize before they decide too add even more teams, I just could NOT see 2 teams in Vancouver, Toronto, & Montreal, that would be sacrilegious from a fans perspective, and really do you think the new team would be as loved and accepted as the original home team. :dunno: I don't know the populations of the other cities but just moving a couple of the weak market teams from the US.. Phoenix, Atlanta... etc.. I am not sure if any other teams are trouble in the US... I heard the Islanders maybe... so 3 teams go north and the rest are just projected speculation.

Not only would they possibly have to increase the number of games too the regular season if all those cities had a team, all the existing divisional rivalries would only be renewed a couple of times a year instead of 4,6 & don't some teams play each other 8 times a year? That would mean there would be more teams to fill rosters for, and that would mean diluting the talent even more too provide players for all the new teams as well.. these are only my opinions of what would or could happen if all these cities got an NHL team.. I wouldn't mind seeing the NHL reduce the number of teams or relocate troubled teams to where they will be secure and have plenty of fan support.
:2 cents:

Just showed James Hetfield at the Sharks game. I didn't know he was a fan.

Lots of nice goaltending so far in these playoffs. A little surprised Thomas let in the one he did but of course it is way early yet.

LA just tied it 2-2 in the CA/CA battle. I'm hoping the Kings move along, but the Sharks are strong.
