Bruins traded Dennis Wideman to the Panthers for Nathan Horton who is a decent goal scorer...not a bad trade, either Wideman will suck on defense down there or be a beast only time will tell. But watching Wideman especially during the playoffs made me cringe.

It sounds like the Lightning are presuing Tim Thomas that would be great

i had heard that Boston had talked to Tampa but i didn't hear anything about TB really considering him.

it would be interesting. he's 36 so he's getting up there in age. his performance really fell off last year from the previous year and Tuukka Rask stole his starting goalie job, but he has proven himself to be Vezina winning caliber. we'll see i guess.

Would love to see Vinne LeCavillier ( I spelled his last name wrong) in a Bruins jersey but they need a good defenseman from any trade for Thomas to any team.

Chicago sends Dustin Byfuglien, Brent Sopel, Ben Eager and Akim Aliu to Atlanta for Marty Reasoner, Jeremy Morin and the 24th & 54th picks.

ummm...shit. Atlanta just got better in the blink of an eye.

i hope to god Artyukhin leaves the Thrashers now. the thought of 2 monster guys crushing Lightning players 6 times a year is not appealing...

since the Thrashers added all that size and toughness i want UFA Derek Boogaard to end up in Tampa. while i'm wishing for things that won't happen, i also want an Aston Martin.

That's odd they parted with Byfuglien. I wonder if Atlanta and the largest African American population was the reason so he would draw more of that demographic. Probably a lot of people upset about that in Chicago. The Wild would love to have that hometown hero.

BTW, Boogard is alright...for a few shifts a game. Yeah he's a monster, but that only goes so far. There's a graveyard full of enforcers.

You might be onto something there. I remember hearing that Atlanta really wanted Wayne Simmonds from Los Angeles, though that might be because he is a pretty good hockey player as well.

yeah, he hasn't scored a goal in over 2 years but i don't give a shit. i just want him out there for insurance purposes to keep our scorers from being run over. the toughest guy on our team last year was Zenon Konopka. he's bad ass, but he lacks the enforcer size. we had Mitch Fritz but kept him in Norfolk all year. i still don't see why we even signed him if we weren't going to use him.

I don't really want to see Boogey man leave (the fans love him here) and he is cool too if you meet him. Yeah, he's got to be maybe the toughest SOB in the league.

I guess the Sharks are keeping Marlow and Admiral whatshisname...they still loose in the playoffs either way.

Thomas' agent has gotten permission from Boston to seek a trade. I think Thomas could be a real asset to a team like Edmonton that needs a goaltending solution. His contract is a little heavy and it'll probably keep him from getting a good trade, but I think he'd make a good starter for a number of teams.

He's still got it. Ya don't go from Vezina to shit in one year. Although that did happened to Carey I think.

I don't want Thomas in Tampa , he's too old and i'm not sure he would regain his previous form. Also it's highly probable that the Lightning would have to pay too much for him.

The only rumour about Vinny is that the Rangers are considering trying to trade for him. I hope Vinny stays in Tampa , I really feel like he's going to have a much better production next season.

I hate this trade , Atlanta is getting a very annoying player to play against.

I wouldn't mind having Boogaard , and I wouldn't mind bringing Artyukin back too , but at the right price ( below 1 million ). Tampa has to get a guy that can take care of Byfuglien.

Alright just need a sixer of beer and I will sit back and watch the draft tonight, starts at 7pm on the NHL network, it's one of these new HD channels that I have and consider it worth the extra money I pay for cable.
