I respectfully disagree, Katie's Mine. Many people are quite happy to go out and buy a Lord of the Rings DVD for $20-$30, but why not a porn vid for the same? Makes me wonder. It seems to me that people don't actually admire their favorite babe as much as they say they do... :2 cents:

Well, if you're that big of a fan of that many pornstars, there are also paysites featuring shared-content of them. I could list a bunch of them, but I don't want to give shameless plugs and be called a spammer. lol
But yes, if you are so heavily involved in multiple models/actresses that you would consider joining their sites, then you'd better have a lot of cash - photoshoots are NOT cheap to do. The model or models have their fees, there's travel, sets, photographers, lodging and hotel expenses, all sorts of things involved. It's not cheap for them, and so the fees for their sites are charged accordingly. I don't begrudge them a dime, unless the site content is crap. That's why you try a 3-day preview first!!!

I know the economic ramifications of such site features, but also know how much profit the industry makes. I don't blame them for pricing me and others out of their profitbook-it's business. I still maintain that if prices were lowered, more people who can't afford them now, would then be able to, ergo INCREASING profit, not reducing it.

I'll agree with others that the pricing does need to be looked at. I've already said that sites should be looking at alternative charging methods, i.e.:
Charging per movie
or
Charging per gallery
You wouldn't need to spend $30 joining a site then, as you'd only get content you want.
I think this would cut piracy, as it would then be far more affordable for most people.
Also understand the trust issue with credit card details, but in reality, model & mixed content sites take security very seriously. Most details are processed through one of the large credit transaction sites, and all data is encrypted.
The site itself won't hold your card details, as it's done through a 3rd party provider.
Also, any site that didn't take security seriously would soon get a bad name - just 1 thread on Freeones could be seen by a lot of potential customers. So bad security would damage their business.
And it's fine to say some models / actresses make a lot of money. That may be right, but there will also be many that don't.
So by joining your favourite models site, you're helping to keep her in business - as well as benefitting from full galleries & movies.
At the end of the day, bandwidth, hosting & gallery shoots cost money. I've even contributed to other sites by paypal before, as I think it's only fair to reward someones effort.
So there may be lots of free stuff available, but the best content is always going to be on the pay sites.

Do you think that if BMW made the exact same car, without degrading ANY quality, but simply lowered their prices, they would make a lot more money because more people would have the ability to buy BMWs? Nope. It doesn't work that way. You find the max profit margin with max volume and you go with the trends of the market. Happy medium - you don't want to over or UNDER price yourself out of business...

Not at all. I don't know what sort of economics you've studied, but supply/demand/profit margins, risk/loss, marketing, they're all the same. Sure, the product variation is there, but the basic business concepts remain the same. :2 cents:

My reasons is that I simply dont trust a lot of the porn pay sites. I wouldnt feel comfortable giving my credit card details to someone for porn...

erm...no, but it was an honest mistake.
I didnt realise this thread had 3 pages. I read the first and hit reply, replied and left it at that.Just come back on and I realised, well my initial reaction was "Blimey thats a lot of replies in a short time"
