I have a girl but even if i didn't I would never get with a prostitute-just not my cup of tea; That being said, if two consenting ADULTS want to partake in that activity, so be it. Just make sure she is over 18 and try to protect yourself as best as possible (i.e. wearing ONE condom at a time, etc). Its just sex, its not a big deal. She does not HAVE to do it and sometimes the alternative would be far worse (in terms of making money, that is). I'm sure they are not thinking about the morality or ethics of having sex for money when confronted with the reality of their starving children.

For Scotland.In our case is that if you do get caught,then your put on the sex offenders list and classed the same as a rapist or a paedophile.I personally think that is a bit too much and maybe go as far to say it's against the person(s) human rights especially if both parties are agreeing to participate in the act.
It's different if it's someone whos been forced to do it,but not all prostitutes are.Obviously,at the end of the day it the hookers decision to do that job isn't it :dunno:
If its because of the drugs,then surely they should be trying to nullify the source of why they are forcing themselves into selling themselves.Prostitution is one of the oldest professions - if not,then the oldest.So isn't it the drugs thats the cause. :dunno:

I'll admit they are very similar professions, but I think the difference is that mainstream porn stars usually know the men they are fucking with. It is also very unlikely they have been forced or sold into the profession by another person. This is something that happens a lot in some countries. Plus they have a reasonable expectation that the man does not have AIDS. I'm sure many unwholesome things go on in the underbelly of the industry, though.

You’re missing the point. We all know the technical working differences between a pornstar and a prostitute. That doesn’t change the underlying fact… that they are both engaging in prostitution. It’s all sex in exchange for money (or sex for hire). It’s kind of like comparing a street baller who’s hustling on the local basketball courts for money, to an NBA all star. Yes, “technically” they may have some differences, but they’re still both basketball players.
And I'm still waiting for someone to explain those risks in detail with some supporting evidence. So far, nobody has done so.

Combine this with the chances that the prostitute has STDs at all, and the chances that if she has them that you will contract it, and the chances may be slim you'll get an STD. But of course the chances are much greater than the ZERO chance of getting an STD while wanking at home. In fact, mathematically, the chances of getting an STD from a prostitute are INFINITELY greater than the chances at home. Plus there are other STDs and diseases which can not be prevented by condom use. I'm sure many of these are readily available in Thailand or just about anywhere else.
Plus the opinion that it is pathetic to hire a prostitute in the first place (much less travel halfway across the world to do same) when you can just take care of your needs yourself, or God forbid apply yourself and get a significant other.
This is pretty much what I’ve been saying. Of course the safest way is to wank at home. And yes, a condom is not full proof. But as you touched on, you can catch something from a prostitute in Thailand (or any other country), just the same as you can catch something from the girl at the bar back home.

There's a risk even with a condom on you know. People can still spread hpv with a condom, but it's less likely. Condoms aren't 100% protective.
You can also get hit by a car or struck by lightning so best to stay in your house at all times; Oops, the house is where most accidents occur...

I vacillate back and forth on this issue. Sometimes I think it's pathetic; other times I kind of envy those who can emotionally detach enough to enjoy it, which it seems I'm incapable of doing.
The risks that someone has contracted an STD increases with the number of sexual partners the person has. But it's certainly "possible" for someone to have hundreds of partners and never catch anything. Plus, not all STDs are untreatable. Someone could catch gonorrhea (or chlamydia) for example, get it treated, and be just as clean as the next person.
Even if by chance you were to have sex with someone who is carrying an STD, it still doesn't guarantee that you're going to contract it. So to say that your chances of contracting an STD from a prostitute are infinitely greater than with a normal girl just doesn't hold water. Lots of people catch STDs... I'd like to hear from people who actually feel that they contracted theirs from a prostitute. I think you'll find that just as many people (if not more) catch them from regular girls as they do from prostitutes.

xxaru - perhaps i shouldn't have used the word "emotionally" to qualify detached? what i meant to express is that with a hooker there's no fooling myself she's actually into me, and if a woman's not into me then personally i see no point or purpose in engaging with her. at least with the one nighter it's a case of mutual desire.
