You seem to almost be taking personal offence at my observation. I dont assume every single person comes back with one. But its a curious thing to make something as desperate as having sex with a prostitute all the worse by paying for a flight to get there. Sex in general is a hot spot of risk, but you dont go running through a minefield intentionally for shits and then giggles, then think youll have right to complain when you lose a leg.

Lets make an assumption of a 25% rate of STI transmission in the thaliand sex tourism industry. You go on holiday with three of your buddies, one of you comes back with something. Whose gonna listen to them bitch and moan about it, when they knew full well about their chances. In fact a group of guys I knew did something similair, unfortunately they all came back rash free, but if any of them had it'd have been a case of fuck you, tough luck, serves your bloody right.

Caught with a small amount of pot and You Might be let off with a fine, but you won't be so lucky if caught with another drug. Especially if you buy it off an undercover. Their drug laws are very strict and the penalties are harsh.

Despites folks best efforts to promote safe sex even in monogomous couples, it always seems to fall on largely deaf ears. Perhaps using where I live is a cruel example, but the number of unwanted children I am aware of constantly keeps growing. Children and STD's might be an unfair comparison, but when both are largely unwanted, people ruin their lives with both.

We're talking about STD's here, not pregnancy. Let's stick to the subject. The point is that having sex is not "like running through a minefield" as you so explicitly stated. If you honestly believe that then your rational is obviously skewed. Even having unprotected sex does not guarantee that you will contract an STD. People have been lead to believe that having sex is like playing Russian roulette with your life, and that is NOT the case. Your assumptions on this issue are just flat out WRONG.
