xxaru - perhaps i shouldn't have used the word "emotionally" to qualify detached? what i meant to express is that with a hooker there's no fooling myself she's actually into me, and if a woman's not into me then personally i see no point or purpose in engaging with her. at least with the one nighter it's a case of mutual desire.

Ok, gotcha. But there can also be mutual desire with a hooker. It's not the norm, but it does happen.
