NBA '09/'10 Season Thread

Do you watch espn? They already said the cap could go down as much as 8 million next year. And just because your team is in a rebuilding year your not gonna watch the next season?I understand what it is to be a fan,but if people didnt watch and were not interested because their teams were "rebuilding",the NBA would go down in flames.Look at teams like the Bucks,Pacers or the T wolves.Would you say they are rebuilding? They have sucked for years and none of the big free agents are going to go there.Even if they did, they still wouldnt be shit. Those people support those teams because they are fans of the game of basketball. The Bulls have some good young talent, and besides the fact that they overpaid for Deng, they should be alright. But what if Rose signs somewhere else after his rookie contract? You could be waiting years for them to put contenders on the floor.

Wow man, I don't even know where to start...But ok, number 1 the cap is down 1 million for next year. That is official....Number 2 Rose isnt a free agent for another 2 years and to think he's going somewhere is a joke. Why would he leave his hometown and he loves playing for the Bulls. And third, yes I would say the Pacers, Bucks, and T Wolves are rebuilding....When you dump Richard Jefferson and KG for expiring contracts and draft picks you are rebuilding. The one thing I do agree with you on is Deng is overpaid.

Im saying the cap could go down next year 8 million.Add that with this years 1 million and you have a problem.I know Rose isnt a free agent for two years.I said what if he left after his rookie contract that is always three years.Man I get what you are saying, but all I said was that real fans of basketball will be excited every year. Some teams are pretty much always going to suck. How else can you justify giving someone like Andrew Bogut 70 million dollars?

One more thing.I am a longtime Laker fan.BUT,no matter what I still love the game of basketball. All those years when we were getting put out by the suns,I still watched all the way through the finals.Through Smush Parker and Kwame Brown I still got excited. When Kobe winds down and we go through our phase when we suck again,Ill still be excited every season.Your telling me that when Dwayne Wade turned into a monster and went off on the Mavs, that wasnt great basketball?Im no heat fan,but that was the shit.Watching Lebron go off isnt exciting?I no Cavs fan.Which brings me back to my original statement....If you are a real fan of basketball, every season is exciting. That is all I said.

You are a smart man.

Start in Miami for $30 million over 5 years, or come off the bench in L.A for $30 million over 3 years?

He's staying in L.A.

I think he's gone now. Buss isn't going to offer him that $30/3 yr deal again. He's been in LA awhile now. I think he wants to try something else, although I really don't think he's a leader or wants a leadership role on a team.

He should've accepted the Lakers offer. It was more than fair.

d-wade is telling odom to come home to the heat . will they get him ?

^
Yes. They need him too!

Now that the Lakers have Ron Artest....they could let both Ariza and Odom walk ASSUMING that the Lakers have a lot of confidence in Andrew Bynum's development. If Bynum becomes a legit factor on offense (18 ppg/game) then the Lakers will be fine....If Bynum turns out to be a bust, the Lakers could be in trouble a bit....

Odom says he wants to stay in L.A. He says he wants to win titles. His friend Ron Artest comes to his team. And now he's going to pull an Ariza and take less money somewhere else.

If he leaves, I hope he goes to Miami. Help keep Wade in town.

It is pretty clear Odom wants to start on a shitty team, instead of come off the bench and win a 99% guaranteed title.

Boston has a better chance then the Lakers. A healthy Celtic team is already better then the Lakers. They add Wallace now Daniels in the offseason...That bench looks really good. BTW Odom will sign in maimi where he can make the money and start.

A healthy Celtics team lost to the Lakers last year. Although they are improved this year, I still like the Lakers chances against old ass Boston. Especially if Odom stays.

The Lakers w/Odom are the best team in the league, and locks to make it to the Western Conf Finals against San Antonio. Without Odom, they still get to the Finals, but they might not get past the Spurs.

If KG can still dominate and if Rey Allen doesn't come back washed up, the Celtics could be the best in the East. I am intrigued by Orlando. If Vincanity can mesh with DHoward and if Jameer Nelson comes back....I still gotta go with the Magic over the C's.

I think Cleveland is 3rd in the East, even with Shaq.

Did you forgot how bad Kobe and the Lakers got pounded against the Celtics in the Finals? Did you forget that they lost by 40 one game?

sorry no link but matt barns just signed with orlando man they are deep this year i think they will be the 3rd best team in the league behind the celtics and lakers

I think it's pretty obvious that the Lakers are a far better team then they were a year ago. Their defense and rebounding have improved and it just got better with the addition of Artest. The Lakers are young and are just going to continue to keep getting better and the Celtics are just going to keep getting older.

Me, personally, I think the Spurs are going to be a tougher team to beat than the Celtics.

Kobe v Rondo
Artest v Paul Pierce
Pau v Rasheed
Odom v Big Baby
Bynum v KG

Bench
Dfish v Rey Rey

Based on this...I have the Lakers at a 3-2 starters advantage. Maybe the Celtics have a slightly better bench.

The Lakers are younger. Their only concern is if Bynum develops. The Celtics have to worry about injuries and have to beat more quality teams to get the #1 seed in the East. The Lakers only have the Spurs to worry about in the West.
