Military Spam Scam: Bogus E-Mails From Rogue 'Soldiers'

Yikes, what next?

Although, I have to ask, does anyone believe these emails? I get tons daily asking me to help move funds from Nigeria or some such trash. Never even open an of them.

This just works on so many levels...those of us who are anti-Gulf war might see an opportunity to profiteer off of it...then there are those who might think this is a little underhanded, but after all, don't our soldiers deserve something for their effort?...but in the end, as mentioned above, it sounds alot like the Nigerian scheme...

Oh come on, that's nothing! :) I have so many rich and dead relatives in Nigeria I never heard of, you wouldn't believe. :jester:

One thing, is suddenly I am getting a ton of greeting card spams. The card sounds legit in the email, but then the link is all numerical or something. Always from "your comrade" or from "your worshipper". Right!

I get flooded with dead relatives in Africa / Nigeria / Wherever and of course winning the lottery every week e-mails.

Here's a kicker, ever get one called, "The Real Terminator"? I clicked the link and it was a serious Bible website (!).

The sad thing is that many, many, many, many folks on the net fall for these scams.

E-Scamming is almost a "professional business" in Nigeria.

cheers,

It's just the law of statistics. If you send out millions of them sooner or later somebody out there will be stupid enough to believe it. :1orglaugh
