So where's the line with this stuff? It seems to me we've rounded a corner, if a major magazine has agreed to publish a 15 year old girl with smeared make-up, wrapped in a sheet. The implied meaning is she just got done having sex & I don't see how it could be interpreted in any other ways.
If pics from her personal life are being released by her "friends", exes, etc. then that's one thing. It's just irresponsible and trashy to put yourself in a major magazine in such a manner, when thousands of 8-15 year olds idolize you. It's also irresponsible of Vanity Fair to publish that crap, knowing her influence over young people.
I really don't think she or the mainstream media need to be sending the message to young girls that this kind of behavior is okay.
The underlying problem is that everyone wants to shift responsibility from one party to the other. The media wants to blame parents for not filtering what their children are seeing, and parents want to blame music, the media, internet, etc. when their kid turns up pregnant or with an STD in junior high.

As for the issue of this thread, I saw the pics too and I can't say I saw them and thought "whoa, she just had sex" or she was supposed to look that way... Ok, maybe she was supposed to look sexy, but not necessarily sexual, as in she did it or does it. I don't think she's at all conventionally attractive, even for jailbait, which I don't typically get into, but couldn't the gist of the pics just be that she's supposed to look "kittenish" or whatever? Like cute and sexy and look-out-world?
The whole thing is just so annoying though. Hasn't our world been damaged enough by Billy Ray? Now he foists his offspring upon us, and controversies like this....

I would submit that their lives are not theirs to be in touch with . . quite yet.The lives of "young people", in most cases, require responsible leadership and guidance. Sure there are exceptionally bright and responsible 14, 15, 16 & 17 year old kiddo's in the world, however, isn't that the exception as opposed to the rule ? "Young people" have little or no previous "work" experience i.e. they're naive and vulnerable to the evils that lurk in the desire to exploit them, in many cases, and in turn, when they find themselves in crisis it's best that they have a responsible parental network with which to consult with.
This is nauseating, the thought of a 37 yo man, for example, shredding away at a 14 yo girl (yes, g-i-r-l, not w-o-m-a-n). Mature thought does not parallel with our sexual hormones, in my estimation. I think that the age of majority at 18 is fine precisely where it is, particularly within the ambiance of a failed curricular establishment within our publik school apparatus. "They've" incrementally and intentionally dumbed down a generation, here in Amerika, IMO. Just compare the academic / scholastic test scores of today vs. yesterdays.

They were artistically done by one of the best and most respected photographers in the world...and no there is nothing wrong with them...
I love how people (in general) are okay with these photos and are allowed (thought they will clearly spark sexual interest), yet people on to catch a predator are hit with felonies for having sex talk with a "15" year old online.
