assari should still be banned though. Everyone needs to do their part.

:rofl2: Oh stop, you're killing me.

Luis1972 does put up many pretty sexy models up in the Actual pic/vid thread. :)

He also sticks some pretty awesome pics in various babe threads which I have greatly appreciated. Kayden's, off the top of my head.

Technically those register as zero-word posts, never mind two-word posts!!

He never responds to anything posted in his direction.

He posts in every congratulations for x number posts threads so he can get rep. He's a terrible poster who contributes absolutely nothing to the board.

Anyone have any solutions for how to make this situation better?

I never understood what the fuzz is about him posting just some words. We all post words. I often post just short sentences myself. Some of us post entire novels without saying absolutly nothing. Is this better? I consider them to be a better contribution then what some users do in all the "Who have you wanked over today?"-like threads where people just post a random name every day for years, fapping over the amount of rep they give eachother. I don't see anybody complaining about them. In fact I contributed to the congratulations threads myself until I noticed how ridiculous the rep-giving was. Is someone a bad person for saying congrats to someone else, or is it because of the stupidity of those threads? The amount of posts he has per day isn't that much different from what some other users have, including some complainers in this thread. So it isn't about spamming either. Is it trolling, baiting, flaming? I invite people to point me out what exactly the sentences are that are considered to be of a bad attitude towards others.

This has become a witchhunt. There's a difference between someone you don't like, and the actual trolls. And if even Petra - who is supposed to be neutral towards members because she's the leading cult mother of FreeOnes, it's her job - starts to post comments about how useless someone is we know we're in deep shit. Because there's no guarantee anymore that members can be judged on an objective scale.

If there's any discussion to be had, it's a discussion about everyone else on here and how to make the situation better. Not a witchhunt.

I've been a member for around 1600 days and have 9200 posts.
That gives an average of 5,75 posts by day what I believe is a reasonable rate.
Thanks again, regards.

And how long did you lurk before you started posting, because I can assure you you're posting well over six posts a day, and have been doing so daily for quite some time despite adding nothing to most conversations. And that's the problem; not the amount you post, but the amount of nothing you post. If you have something worthwhile to say then by all means... say it. If you want to wax poetic, debate a topic, give your actual thoughts... go right ahead. We would all appreciate that.

If you really want to be a better member of the community, don't post in threads unless you actually have something to say. You don't have to post in every thread. For instance, if someone asks a specific question and you don't have an answer then feel free not to add to said thread.

I never understood what the fuzz is about him posting just some words.

If he could stop bumping threads with absolutely nothing I'd be fine with it (Hell, if gsb had never brought him to my attention I'd probably be fine with him, but thanks to our Friendly Neighborhood Ex-moderator he's become that gnat that keeps flitting around your ear canal). He will bump old dead threads which ask questions and reply, "don't know" or similar (and he'll do this in threads where viable answers are already given). It's annoying. It's also disruptive as it knocks other potentially viable discussions further down and possibly off the main page, and often people never check past page one. Which is why on most forums it's frowned on to frequently bump threads, and that's generally all he does... is a bump, without actually saying "bump".

Hi Everybody:

I appreciate your comments.
I think you want me to be a better member of this community. Thanks for your advise.
About the posts, the double posts are the consequence of some problem with the refreshing of the board.
It has not been my intention to double post or be a post spammer. Sorry for that.
About the short posts, I will try to be more specific in my comments.
I try to follow the rules of this board.
As someone of you think, put me in your ignore list.
About the rep. I normally give positive rep to the posts. Just use the negative rep when I receive something and think is not fair.

Thanks for your response, Luis. It's a good response.
You are, of course welcome to post whatever you'd like on the forums. I was just looking for an explanation as to why you post such frequent short responses that often don't seem to be connected with the thread in which you are posting. I asked you about this in a more private forum, but didn't receive an answer, so I thought I'd try this way.
In any case, I appreciate you taking the high road in this instance, and I can promise you'll receive no more grief from me.

That was a great, honest reply, Lu.
Keep posting what you want around here and dont let these fucking sycophants bully you around.

I have to say, I'm a little surprised by you...Dirk.
Starting a thread calling out a harmless guy like Lu seems beneath an intelligent, message board scribe like yourself.

Seems like a bitch ass move to me.
After all, in all honesty, YOU were the one who tucked tail and bounced out of here because Mariah (more or less) forced or chased you away.
You can spin it anyway you want.

Leave the dude alone. Theres an obvious difference of cultures here and he ain't hurting anyone .

Now, if we can do something about the Happy Joy's of the world and their windbag, judgmental, bandwith hogging horseshit.....

Well, I'm sorry? But, to clear things up, I didn't take a break because of Mariah. I took a break because of how inconsistently things are run here, and I just decided to take a little time to get myself to the point where I just didn't care, and everyone can go fuck themselves.

I'm there now.

You do realize I wouldn't write the things I did about Squallumz (who is still useless and he knows it) if he couldn't take it?

That aside....not everyone on this board is a native english speaker. Hell, this board ISN'T even owned by a native english speaker. So think about that when people don't use correct grammar, misspell, or chose to write in short sentences. Or, perhaps they want to recognize a thread but don't WANT to write a fucking novel and guess what? They don't have to. If they want to recognize a thread by smiley, short sentences, memes, song, interpretive dance, or miming, by all means. If that's fun to them why not? It's not against the rules.

From my side, Luis is extremely courteous which is a very appreciable quality. As far as I know, he has never bothered anyone.

You remember when I called you an asshole and apologized for it (I'm sure you do because you threw it immediately back in my face). Well I was wrong... to apologize.

Hey, there's plenty of shit I don't care about on here, you for instance. Which is why I ignored your first slight. But of course you had to address me personally, so whatever... :dunno:

Do you feel better now that you've been acknowledged? Great.

Funny thing about you is that, unlike with luis my issue with you can be solved with a click of a button...

There are indeed a lot of threads on the first page that I consider - let's put it polite - not that interesting. It's a grief I understand. But when a 'potentially viable discussion' gets knocked of the main page that's not necessarily because the other threads getting bumped so that it gets lost in other threads, but of people not reacting to this thread as well. It works both ways. If someone is interested in a good discussion he wouldn't be to lazy just to look at the main page. And I asume it's just easier to post nonsense or a name in a "who did you..."-like thread, then to discuss something and take responsibility for your opinions. That's what a lot of people do, not just him. So saying that HE's bumping threads so that YOU miss out on an interesting topic isn't really convincing.

I understand Dirk's frustration though. This board has lost it's charm. Even when you search for those particular threads to have an interesting discussion or just some fun, it get's disrupted by all those fucking trolls. People say: "use the ignore button, problem solved." But they forget that the discussion is completely disrupted and there's hardly anything more to discuss. And as I said, it's harder to actually discuss something and take responsibility for your opinion, then to post nonsense in a "what/where/how did you..."- thread. Why would a new member even bother to take part in these threads knowing a troll will try to bait/flame him.

So what's the appeal of hundreds "where/what/how did you ..."-threads and dead topics... None.

I'm not worried about personally missing out on interesting topics because I do check past the first page, but most people don't. That's not even just on this forum, it's typical message board behavior. As a rule a forum pretty much gets judged by what's on the first page. Blame ADD or quick judgements, but that's the state of the Internet.

And yes, the trolls are absolutely part of the problem. Not to mention the plethora of shit topics. And I truly do wish they were gone, and that FreeOnes would tighten up the rules a bit. I wish that would be the case, and whenever it comes up in a thread I argue for it. It's not exactly a secret that it's driven away a lot of posters, and with perhaps one or two exceptions the OCSMs regularly lament it and many will occasionally remark that it's the reason they tend not to venture out past their own official threads (which are more tightly controlled), or sometimes that it's why they post less frequently or are considering not posting at all. And that can't be good for FreeOnes on any level.

So what's the appeal of hundreds "where/what/how did you ..."-threads and dead topics... None.

I actually do like the "what are you listening to now" thread and the "what are you drinking" thread because they both can offer some interesting options. Occasionally they've exposed me to interesting music or beverages (tried a couple new types of tea and coffee thanks to the drinks thread, and I loves me my caffeine) I hadn't had before. But yeah, a lot of them are useless and not very inviting.

Ah, I think there's a misunderstanding. I was talking about squallumz. Nobody else.

Just a quick one here :

So what's the appeal of hundreds "where/what/how did you ..."-threads and dead topics... None.

This seems to be a microcosm of an attitude around here (not particularly personal to you, GE) that Talk has gone downhill and a lamenting for "the good old days" - which you will note from my join date, I must have missed out on - and generally suggestion that most of the threads that crop up on the first page of Talk are rubbish. My question is... what should we be talking about?? Take away the Religion/Politics, Sports and Games subsections, and I still see threads talking about food & drink, music..... ummm, "Ettiquette" etc etc... what is it exactly that we're missing that was so prevalent in "the good old days?" Is it the actual threads/topics, or the fact that the board was once a hive of activity from intelligent and funny posters, many of who have jacked it in, and that the posters that have joined in the interim simply don't measure up to the previous yardstick?

If so, I'm sorry for bringing down the tone and will stick to the wanking threads from now on. ;)

The way I remember it, before they split the talk section up, all the political threads took up the first page and buried everything else, on a porn site. Atleast now some of the relevant things get to float to the surface.

You're not remembering it correctly because that never came close to happening.
