Lost

Now that the Others are all dead we get a new bunch of pricks to hate, yay!

Well, we can't confirm that it is Dharma that sent them, but whoever sent the crew seems to be the one responsible for the cover up. The thing that I found to be really interesting was not that the wierd guy said that they were dead, but that naomi aksed if they were alive in the first place. Now why is it that she would know flight 815 crashed on the island? and if they knew they were there, of course they know they are alive, so how could they not expect the crew to found that out?

What I really want to know about, I gotta see that again, is WTF was up with those excavated dharma bears? I'm throwing this one down for those that are hedging bets (of course I am gambling cash on the shows outcome, you aren't?) against my time travel theory.

Going back to episode one, the thing that I found most interesting, I wanna know, why did Hurley see Jacob's cabin? Is it just me, or was the eye that popped up in the window someone elses (besides jacob)? looked kinda like desmond to me. I'd like to see a freeze frame on that one.

the fact that Locke appeared right after is leaning me back toward the Locke is Jacob theory.

I somehow knew that it was going to be a polar bear as soon as they showed the bones and knew as soon as she started digging a bit that she was going to find a dharma logo. I still don't have a frickin' clue what the heck that was about though.

I'm pretty sure the figure in the window was Locke. We saw Jacob was in the chair. When Hurley fell down after running from the cabin, Locke was there standing over him, so he had to be near by.

All this show does is bring on more questions every episode. i'am curious to know how they are going to wrap this up.

I got a feeling when they do wrap it up you are going to have to re-watch all the episodes again to get the big picture.

One theory a friend told me is that the show is going backwards. The producers have said countless times everything was explained in the Pilot episode. This may be a story where you might have to watch all the episodes backward from the Series Finale going back to the Pilot episode.

Peace.

My biggest question I want answered is when exactly was "the purge"?

It's not really important--at this point--as to WHEN "The Purge" happened. All we know is that the people who used to be "The Hostiles" became "Ben's People"...basically. Unless the Creators of Dharma--The DeGruets--come into the picture--the Purge is probably not an incident that will have any following consequences. Most of Ben's People are still alive but we probably won't see much of them this season...

The person in the cabin was Locke. Jacob is a completely different character who is not a physical person. He appears to be an "entity" or ghost character that only certain characters can see...Ben, Locke, Hurley....We don't know if Jacob is good/bad or even important...

I must say that the first 2 episodes have been very good. I like the "flash forward" concept...the new characters seem more interesting then "The Others" were last year.

We're supposed to learn the identity of another Lostie who leaves the island next week. So far we know Jack/Kate/Hurley...maybe Sayid...maybe Sawyer..maybe The Koreans...maybe Claire...Michael/Walt have left the island and Michael is supposed to return to "the show" this season for a couple of episodes...so we'll finally get a little more of "their side."

Perhaps Michael/Walt is "the mole" that is aboard the Freighter that Ben claimed "is my inside person"...or whatever it was he said at the end of last night's episode...

what? I've never heard that. supposedly they did write the end of the series first and then went from there, which I don't really believe because it's undeniable that some of it they just made up as they went. Such as the fact that Jack was supposed to die in the second episode and was never intended to be the shows main character, but due to popular appeal they decided not to kill him, and so obviosuly had to restructure the show around that.

When Hurley looks in the window of the cabin, it appears to me that the person sitting in the rocking chair is wearing a dark suit and has white hair (resembling Jack's father) and the eye put to the broken window looked like Mikhail's good left eye to me. Hard to believe he survived the grenade blast though. Of course, hasn't he been "killed" like twice already?

Toward the end of the first season, the producers stated that the pilot explained the show. Thats why ABC was repeating the pilot alot a couple of years ago. If you go on the official Lost messageboard on ABC website, the producers give info there every now and then, thats how I heard about it.

The producers claim that the main story has been written for 5 seasons and is too be fully explained in 5 seasons. If the show is still a hit, they have the final episode set up to continue the storyline.

Peace.

I just finished the 3rd season, and for me, it was as good as season 1. Season 2 was a dog for me.

I really hope that it is not Juliette, as she is the best looking - and besides Kate, the show is in desperate need of eye candy to hold my interest.

Since I haven't read through the thread, can someone update the thread in a post and say where we are? (The latest season and episode to air?)

That may be the case, but it hasn't always been that way. The freqeunt contradicting testimony of the producers leads me to believe that they don't know what they are doing as much as they claimed.

After season one I heard it straight from the horses mouth and they said that the show could go on indefinately as long as it kept getting picked up, obviously that they had no intentions for scheduling the ending. and that it would last "at least two seasons, haha."

After season 2 that was when they said that they had written the ending and that the show was to have an intended scheduled ending point, and that it might be two or three more seasons (after season 3).

After season three was when they said that the show was definatly set to have two more seasons and end after the fifth season. As far as I know that was the first time it was publically confirmed and I reported it on here after hearing it.

I think that they just said that thing about the pilot to get people to watch the show (esp. if it was after season one) and lead them on a wild goose chase looking for clues.

Not trying to discredit you here BB, just giving my POV. If you heard that, that's cool and I appreciate you posting that info on here. please don't think I don't want to hear theories. the crazier the better.

I saw an interview with Sayid on the Jonathan Ross show, he said he didn't think the producers knew what the ending was going to be until this (the 4th) season.

Ok, there was a small part of S-4 Ep-2 when Daniel Faraday ( who states his profession as 'Physicist') said to Kate " The sunlight scatters differently here(the island)", as if he was confused and mystified.
I wonder why he said that.

If what you say is true, this show aint gonna make it past next season. They have exposed so many damn questions, it will probably take another 5 seasons to explain it the way things are going.

I will admit, the last 4 episodes of last season was the best. They explained a lot and brought in alot of action. But this show is beginning to lose me.

I recalled that too. Being he claims he is a physicist, he most likely notices things the others there dont.

Also his last name was curious, I did a search at the end of the show and this is what I got........

I dont think it is a coincidence.

^Nice catch. Also, the redhead chick's name is Charlotte Staples Lewis. A reference to C.S. Lewis perhaps?

from blackbull1970's 1st link about faraday:
Faraday's discovery (1845) that an intense magnetic field can rotate the plane of polarized light is known today as the Faraday effect. The phenomenon has been used to elucidate molecular structure and has yielded information about galactic magnetic fields.

Which might explain Daniel Faraday's mysterious comment about how the sunlight scatters differently on the island.

Ok, so apparently there's going to be a "big" death sometime after episode four.

my money is on ben.

Got the first two episodes of the new season lined up now... I'm glad there's finally some new material to enjoy, even though it looks like they may not make it to episode sixteen until next season... oh well, I'm diving in! :)
