You dont walk up to somebody after a game, grab them and then talk **** the thier face all while the guy is walking off the field. He deserved to get punched.
^^Apparently you have never played football. People talk smack every single play. Dude sucker punches an opposing player, goes after fans, wrestles with teammates, coaches and police because he couldn’t back up his pre game talk on the field. If you really think that is acceptable behavior to be emulated, you will really go far in life.

Well I've played football before & I totally agree with timevslife & had no real problem with Hout getting punched in the damn mouth.Obviously you & your coaches have no problem with taunting opponents after a game & don't understand the possible consequences of taunting an angry/fustrated opponent. Luckily the guy only threw a short cross right/check punch & not a haymaker.
The only problem I have with Blount is the big scene he caused afterwards. I have seen far worse college brawls than that punch:dunno: I believe Oregon(if they are so bothered by this) should at least release the *** from his scholarship committment if they feel a whole season is necessary so he can move on.
People may smack talk 'during' every single play ,but this was 'after' a tough loss early in the season.
Kellen Houston(Nebraska) threw a haymaker at a Mizzou fan who never saw him & many commentators thought it was funny & Houston was suspended for the 1st half of the game. Issue Over. This doens't even rise to that level.

Almost all of the guys who play football are more aggressive the average Joe. It's part of the attitude they preach to these guys when they're younger and it's what allows many of them to be successful. Blount is an idiot, because rather than going off in the locker room or somewhere a little more private he chose to lose his **** on the field. He deserves the punishment he has received and no D1-AA team is going to take a chance with his reputation. Another thing that shouldn't be ignored is that since he's a senior his football career is officially dead.
If it was only the punch he would have been suspended for only a game or two. It was the aftermath that did him in.
Troy Smith and my Buckeyes were taunted by the Gators after the game a couple years ago. Should the Buckeyes have started a brawl? No, of course not! What they should have done is practice hard before hand and not think that all they had to do was show up to win.
He has no more eligibility to play college football anywhere else.
Didn't know about the guys eligibility. Needs to hire a personal trainer & be prepared for the Combines(unlike Maurice Clarett who was drafted despite his problems in the 3rd round) if any teams are interested.
