Basically i just wanted to say that in my opinion shes not a bad singer (as pop music goes) but i totally agree that she cant act to save her life!...well least not anymore cause she used to be ok but its like the eminem thing in my eyes....ego goes to your head and boom....all downhill from there.....

I also think she's a good singer. Bought her albums "On the 6" and "J.Lo".

But you are right, not every singer should start another career as actor. It's the same with actors who sudennly think they can sing. Most of them are bullsh***. Some german soap opera "stars" come to my mind... :o

To bring this back to J- Lo, Brittany Spears, and Madonna, I'm very critical of their singing because frankly they're very average at it.... and to make matters worse that's ALL they do. It never ceases to amaze me when I hear people defending these women.... they always seem to bring up irrelevant things like dance moves, wardrobe, etc.... like they're say anything but actually critique the way these women sing. Listen to them VERY carefully (and this may be difficult as they, and in particular J-Lo, are known for having an extraordinary amount of "post-production" studio work done on their vocals) and you'll see there's nothing special about their voices. There are some singers, like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston whom I dislike because they're way too OTT for my tastes, and I like to accuse them of over-singing.... but at least they can sing. The women in your list are relatively untalented compared to one I just listed. You DID say they weren't bad as far as pop music goes.... well that's who I'm comapring them to.

heres my opinion tho...alicia keys is a dam fine singer, but meriah carey?...shes just as bad as beyonce, they dont sing they shout! and its annoying
i like madonna because she has a very different voice and she has good writers behind most of her newer stuff (ray of light, frozen ok their not new but fairly recent, and i geuss american pie ...even tho i hate the cover her voice made a nice alternate)....britney and all them lot sound the same to me....not much difference...except christina who pretty much either sounds like she is holding her nose when she is singing\screamin
