It's 2015, What Should We Be Able to Do By Now?

With the technology we have right now, why are we still using paper ballots to vote in some places? We should be voting on tablets. It would be much more efficient. By doing so we'd instantaneously get the results the minute the polls close. FFS, in Estonia they vote online in their elections

Eyeglasses with self-adjusting vision. Or even some with manual adjustment whereby at any time you could adjust the vision setting for each eye.

Considering all the detailed Mega Blockbuster Sci-Fi Space movies, I think we are wayyy behind on the technology required to remotely achieve even a fraction of what is routine in the movies.

I believe that equivalent already exists, Antonella. I just don't happen to know the name right now.
I guess it just doesn't get promoted remotely nearly as much as Viagra and even with the knowledge of its existence, it doesn't get purchased.

Manned missions beyond earth orbit.

Taking human pilots out of the cockpits of fighter aircraft. Think of the Gs it could pull without a pile of mush to worry about.

A smart gun that's smarter than it's user.

GPS locator chips implanted in children and animals in case they get lost or abducted.

Will not happen. They could be hacked, or shut off. Very bad idea.

No way. No chips for anyone.

Anything with a computer can be hacked.

A - That would be a drone. I am sure there are advanced ones in testing that can handle dogfights etc.

I think it's high time we take convicted murderers, rapists and Fins and legally hunt them.

I know what they're called. Unmanned fighters are on the horizon but are not here yet. The Secretary of the Navy declared the F-35 the last manned fighter the Navy will ever fly.

I looked through that. Thats not what I'm talking about. That's a preloaded disc with all the child's information for the amber alert should they go missing. I'm talking about being able to track a missing child in real time using an implanted GPS device. We've already got it on our phones.
