horror movies

I watched a movie last year called Doghouse. It's a UK comedy/horror where these guys go to a town with nothing but women, but turns out the women are man eating zombies. I didn't like it at first and nearly shut it off, but then after a little while I got into it. I ended up giving it a 5 on IMDb. Worth a watch once if you can find it somewhere :)

Yeah the trailer for Inkubus looks kinda interesting. Englund did another movie I saw a while ago like "Strippers vs Werewolves" called "Zombie Strippers", which featured retired PornStar Jenna Jameson (A horror movie geek who's favorite horror classics are "The Thing" and "Nightmare On Elm Street")....

The budget was much smaller for the Zombie flick, but Englund's role was much bigger...Obviously niether movie would be considered a cinematic masterpiece, but I liked "Zombie Strippers" better...The plot was not as good as the Werewolf movie, but "Zombie Strippers" had more action and gore...Although both films had their share of naked beauties, which is always a plus in movies of this variety.

Zombie strippers is good brain-dead fun. I was entertained by it. Though, by this point in time Jenna had stopped looking good...

Zombie Strippers is one of the worst movies i have seen in my life (and i have seen plenty of unbelievably bad movies in my life). The "horror" part of the movie isn´t the least bit scary, and the "comedic" parts is completely fucking retarded. I hate that movie with a passion.

Doghouse was ok, but as in most movies that have Danny Dyer in the cast it´s full of extremely juvenile humour.

Yeah, when I saw Zombie Strippers mentioned I figured we were going into cheesy movies we saw, so I had to include Doghouse (though I didn't mention Lesbian Vampire Killers because that's just soooo bad). The worst part of Zombie Strippers was the fact that the hottest girl with the best body was in the army and she was one of the few girls in the movie to not take her top off :(

LOL ...Ya gotta love entertainers like Roddy that don't always take themselves too seriously...Actually, "They Live" is one of my favorite movies. That's one film that I might not mind being re-made with todays special effect technologies provided they could re-capture the heart and spirit of the original.

Yeah, "Zombie Strippers" is good clean "light entertainment" fun IMO...I thought Jenna looked pretty good all things considered...I certainly wouldn't mind seeing her do some MILF/Cougar type scenes if she ever decided to do any more Adult work.

I enjoy seeing Adult models succeed in going mainstream...I find that they often bring an added level of sexual energy to their performances which always sends me to the archives to watch their hottest XXX scenes after I've watched their non-Adult films. :1orglaugh

One ex-pornstar who has had pretty good mainstream success is definately Traci Lords. I grew up loving "Not Of This Earth" before I even knew who Traci Lords was ! Trailer ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2l00wACqH0 )

The subtle undercurrent of sexual energy which Traci provides, plus a decent cast and story-line, actually made her movie "Crazy Eights", one of my ex-pornstar favorites.

I watched Eraserhead when i was about thirteen and that damn movie scarred me for life. I have watched the movie a few times since then and i still don´t have a clue what it´s really supposed to be about but it somehow manages to freak me out every time anyway. The "baby" is just the creepiest thing ever.

This guy's review has cleared some things up about that movie. At least in my mind because I didn't know what the fuck was going on when I saw Eraserhead. I'll take any interpretation I can get when it comes to Lynch.

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
There is one movie I couldn't make it through, of all the blood and gore movies that I like and I watch with no problem I simply had to turn off Cannibal Holocaust (1980)

FYI- The director of this film had to gather the cast to prove they were all still alive.

without exaggeration, i could watch "they live" twice a week and not get sick of it. even the one-liners that would usually grant a facepalm, work perfectly... "i have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... im all out of bubblegum."

i dont think under any circumstance, they could recapture the spirit of the original.

i have never seen the movie in full... when i was a kid i started it, and it went really over my head. from what i remember it was a very strange film

Robert Englund will always be Freddy.

exactly.

he almost wasnt though...

that movie is petas worst nightmare.

imo its probably the lowest form of film you can find.

Damn right! Fuckin' Jackie Earle Haley, couldn't even do a decent voice and had to be auto-tuned. Garbage!

I never tried to watch it after hearing what it's about. I love horror, but not when directors just try and be disgusting.

the photo of "freddy" i posted was pre-filming of the original noes... i cant imagine the film if rob hadnt gotten the part.

and as far as cannibal holocaust, youre right.

looking back, how weird would this have been...

david "time after time" warner as freddy?

David Warner is a great actor & I have no doubt he would have made for a fascinating Freddy. However, I can't think that he would have played it in such a way as to sustain the character over several films.

thats exactly what i was thinking. warner is more of a cerebral type actor, which would have been great for the first movie... but as the series went on it took a more comedic approach that i dont think warner could pull off.

nothing against him, its just not the way he usually approaches his roles.

Horror TV

This intro used to creep the fuck out of me as a kid big time. It's disappointing now because it's just not as creepy any more.

Body Bags is a TV movie that could have been a series not unlike Tales from the Crypt. It isn't that bad but it's not exceptional either. One of my heroes Sam Raimi has "cameo" in the first segment. I have to admit I love John Carpenter as the horror host because he's not annoying like the Crypt Keeper and doesn't try too hard like local TV horror hosts.

Lost Tapes: This is not a good show for MANY reasons. The biggest problem is that it's poorly made (camera work, editing, sound, special effects, writing, acting) and the other flaw would be the derivative and predictable story telling of every single episode. The show will stop and over explain what's going on just in case you're blind or your a child. Another problem is that instead of making people question the possible existence of legendary monsters the incompetency of Lost Tapes just makes you laugh at the very thought of creatures like Bigfoot and Nessie and at the people that believe in them. I posted this episode because it's by far the funniest one I've come across. I really did laugh out loud when I watched it.
