Herman Cain would sign abortion amendment

Also, it's troublesome (Maryland and Virginia) that the government people (mostly democrats) are proposing to raise gas tax. More gas tax means people have to pay more. Paying more means less disposable income for said people. Less disposable income means less money to spend. Less money spent means hurting the economy.

Well then, there's that.

I'm very much a proponent keeping abortion legal and safe for women up to approximately the halfway period (after 4 1/2 months, I get a little queazy) and this news won't keep me from voting for Cain or any other candidate should they also sign an abortion amendment.

I was once brainwashed with Karl Marx book by the Viet Cong. And believe me republicans haven't done anything resembled socialist/marxist.

I am a realist and Obama and the modern democrats (not your father's or Kennedy's democrats) are praticing socialism right now, half a step away from being communism. See wealth distribution.

So it's freemarket awesomeness when America's republicans channel oodles of public dosh into health care, public institutions, banks, financial institutions and private companies like IBM, but socialism when somebody else does it. Well, that's reasonable.

It's ironic that Mr. Obama is hammering Wall Street and corporations but in fact he's receiving more money from them than anybody else in history.

Mr. Obama said about humility but he and his people keep on throwing names at the oppositions.

Mr. Obama said in one of his speeches that it was unwise to raise tax in a recession. He's now doing the opposite.

Mr. Obama said he's the president of the people but calls his appositions (republicans) his enemies (e.g., "award our friends and punish our enemies").

Mr. Obama said he'd unite this country. He's now practicing class warfare and racism.

Class warfare? the top 1% have tripled their income over the past thirty years and the GOP are fighting for their tax cuts, how is that not class warfare?

I don't know how the Republicans say these things with a straight face. In Paul Ryan's plan 2/3 of the cuts come from low income programs, which total $2.9 million in cuts. It would cut taxes for the wealthy and raise them for the middle class. So they basically cut programs that benefit the poor and protect the tax cuts for the rich and Obama is the class warrior? They're stealing from the poor to give to the rich

Socialism means big government (communism is an extreme case of socialism). Socialism means the government takes care of most things. Republicans/conservatives support lesser government. Mr. Obama and his party want bigger government. 4.5 trillions accumulated in 3 years in government expenditure (14.6 trillions in total). Record-breaking of government regulations got passed.

Creating a favorable environment for busineess to thrive (socialists/communists/liberals call it as "oodle of public dosh") is not equivalent to "oodle of public dosh". America has a highest corporate tax in the industralized world. No wonder many companies take their business to China.

Talking about oodling of tax payers' money into selected private companies, democrats are doing worse. GE, Apple and other somehow avoid paying tax altogeter. Big chunk of money to various unions. See also Fannie Mae, Solyndra, LightSquared, General Motor, just to name a few.

The top-1-percent pay 40 % of tax revenue (the government collects annually). The top-10-percent pay around 70 %. The bottom-47-percent pay nothing in tax. How much is fair?

Money makes money. Investing money also entails risks. Some make tons of money. Others file for chapter 11. This is the market at work.

Income or wealth redistribution is the core of socialism and communism. It does not work. Been there seen that. Once you level the income, tax revenue will go down significantly. The government runs out of money. See communist countries and socialist countries in Europe.

Human nature does not work well in socialism or communism. If a doctor's salary is not that much different from a janitor's, nobody will thrive to become a doctor. The Viet Cong created a whole bunch of lazy people (They now wake up like China and allow free market to thrive). People usually want to pursuit their own happiness, not for the collective bunch.

I have a relative living in Denmark. And people over there are really lazy. Can't blame them. Tax is too high. Why works when you just sit home and collect welfare.

Also, this country creates more millionaires and billionaires (not in Vietnamese dollars. If this is the case Viet Name has more millionaires since 100 US dollars = 1.7 Vietnamese dollars) than any countries in the world. In other words, the system, imperfect as it is, rewards success.

Who pay the middleclass' salaries? The rich and some small business. If you take too much money from the rich and small business owners, it will trickle down to the middleclass.

Mr. Obama wants to raise tax on people with income of $ 200,000 (later adjusted to $1,000,000 by the Democrats) or more. It happens that a lot of people in this income bracket happens to be small business owners. If you raise tax on the rich and small business owners (in a recession), you in a sense stifle economic growth as less jobs will be created.

If one keeps redistributing wealth, it will reach a point (a threshold) where there is no more wealth to redistribute. This is why European countries usually suffer 10 percent or more in unemployment (not to mention underemployment).

Communism is even worse.

It's sad that Red China is smarter than us. It's much easier and less costly to do business in China than in the United States. Companies and corporations are entities. And an entity is entitled to look after its own interest. Nobody wants to open his business with the intention to fail.

A good example of money making money is that one goes out and buys or partially owns a sports franchise (say the Texas Rangers ...etc). The very next year the value of the team doubles or triples, i.e., tripling the income or wealth.

On the same token, a lot of other people (a lot more) are not that fortunate. They lost a big chunk, if not all, of their investments.

I don't think you've said anything that wasn't just partisan talking points, campaign slogans and political ideology which bared no resemblence to the historical record, hlegsex.

It's all been discussed, debated and disproved here so many times. We need more 'sticky' threads people can be referred to whenever they wheel these gems out.

I wish someone would have aborted hlegsex! Simply repeating Fox talking points and labeling and comparing us to countries in totally different situations.

Republicans/conservatives support lesser government.

How do you reconcile the administration of George W. Bush to fit your fantasy world-view?

Bush was responsible for: The PATRIOT act & "The War on Terror", increased government funding to religious entities, No Child Left Behind, The Clear Skies Act, Medicare part D, tried to privatize social security (which would have left millions broke when the stock market crashed), and countless other intrusive government policies.

I suppose it's ok when republicans engage in "socialism", right?

This stats is collected over the period of 25 or more years. I can see why their fortune is tripled.

If you bought the Washington Redskins (or Dallas Cowboys, Microsoft ....and many companies) 30 years ago, your fortune is worth much more now. Money making money.

If you want to triple what an accountatnt make (just an example), say he made $50,000 30 years ago and tripling it means we have to pay said account $150,000 today? Market value decides what is worth.

Also, it's wrong to resent what other people make. It's unconstitutional to confiscate (partially by higher taxation) their fortune.

The truth and realities hurt.

The models you are trying to implement or to see are all not very promising. Europe cannot sustain socialism (See Greek, Italy, Portugal, Spain, England, Denmark ....). If you want to follow communism model, it's even worse.

This country is under 14.5 trillion dollars in debt (4.5 trillions under Mr. Obama). We accumulate 1.3-1.5 trillions in debt each year. We can't afford big government or socialism.

Realities are a bitch.

The republicans are not practicing socialism.

One of the main jobs of the federal government is to protect us (e.g., the military, the Pentagon....). "The War on Terror" is desgined to protect America.

Quite the contrary, the conservative philosophy always promotes private sectors, "trying to privatilze social security" included.

Government, at least this government, is one of the most inefficient organizations on the planet. 14 trillions in debt. Spending money they don't have. Empowering the government is equivalent to forfeiting your individual liberty.

If you want to have a discussion about the merits of various forms of government spending and debt that's fine, but if you're going to start with the premise that it's all the democrats fault then the discussion is over because that is blatantly false.

I have a friend who tried his hand on the restaurant business. He and his wife had to put out more than 12 hours each day. They ended up having to sell the restaurant at a loss.

What gives us the right to go Dan Snyder (I use Dan Snyder for example purposes. Sorry Mr. Snyder) and take away some of his fortune since the Redskins is worth much more (more than triple) at the time Mr. Snyder bought it?

Why are we resenting success?

I came to this country with nothing. Worked my way through college ($20,000 plus in student loan debt). Earned a degree. Now owning my own house. All through hard work. I am not resenting anybody. I am thankful for the apportunities I've got.
