I'm voting for St. Jude as well. Cancer research and saving children should both be high priorities.
Amen!It is alot better than some other suggestions I've seen. Like "Earth Water" or the "ASPCA".

To the folk's the that recommended the ASPCA, You want to give charity?

1) Be a responsible Pet Owner/Role Model

2) Volunteer at your local ASPCA. It's free for you and would make you feel better

There's your charity

I'm doing a lot of work on this behind the scenes, but this week we're going to go over the suggestions and see which 2 charities we're going to be adding to our poll from this thread.

Then starting on December 1st to 23rd, everyone will be able to vote on the charities and the charity with the most votes by the 23rd will receive the donation. I can say that we've been having a lot of success in getting different companies to donate to our cause so whichever charity gets the money, they're going to be getting a nice amount.

Operation Freedom Paws does great work. They match PTSD-suffering veterans with shelter dogs and help train them as a form of therapy, and it's been proven to work wonders. Win-win for those who want to see veterans recieve the help the deserve and those who want to give shelter dogs a second chance at a home.

What a wonderful idea, never heard of this organization but I am going to find out more, thanks!

That's a wonderful charity. When Alex Zanardi (the CART race car driver) lost his legs in a horrible accident years ago, his family directed people to make donations to St. Jude instead of sending flowers, etc. to them. I've been sending donations to them ever since. Also, the Red Cross is great. You can even designate where your donation goes. A lot of employers will match donations to certain charities. Anyone who is serious about making donations should check into that.

Honestly just because you can volunteer at a place seriously doesn't mean that they don't need money, many charities have volunteer opportunities but are always in need of money, and even St. Jude is always looking for volunteers to come and help cheer up kids and their families.

We have the last 2 charities for our drive!

Thank you so much for your input. There were a lot of worthy charities nominated and I can only hope that you go to their pages and donate what you can to support their efforts as well!

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
Here in England we have a lovely tax system for charities; I donate to a Charity and my Charity donation is shaved off the millionaire Charity founders tax bill on his business.
Warms ya heart, doesn't it?
