Sad, but at least she's alive: Premium Link Upgrade

Formula One test driver Maria de Villota lost her right eye after a crash yesterday and is in a critical but stable condition, her Marussia team said.

De Villota, 32, is being treated for serious head and facial injuries at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, England, Marussia said in a statement. She had surgery that began yesterday afternoon and ended this morning, the team said.

“We are grateful for the medical attention that Maria has been receiving and her ****** would like to thank the neurological and plastics surgical teams,” Marussia team manager John Booth said in the statement. “However it is with great sadness that I must report that, due to the injuries she sustained, Maria has lost her right eye.”

End of Qualifying!

Pole Position:
Fernando Alonso (1:51.746)

Even with 30 minutes added to the recording time, my Tivo missed out on the end of Q2 and all of Q3. :( Oh well, since it was Alonso on pole, I guess I didn't need to see that anyway. :dunno:

But I think my big question is: what the hell is up with Button these days?! Didn't they just sign him to a new long term contract? For some reason, when drivers get too secure in a team, sometimes their performance drops off. McLaren needs his points. He needs to get back on the stick!
