It depends on the sport for me. In basketball, I've liked the Duke Blue Devils since I was about 9 years old. In football I like Florida State. Those are the teams that I've tended to like over the years, but I'm not a hardcore fan of any college team; I just like to see the competition at the college level overall.

Give 'em a couple of years and they might be.
They came within one game of going to the BCS title game in both '97 and '98, and with the Neuheisel/Chow hirings it appears they intend to get back to playing on that level consistently.
How about LSU the only team to win the BCS without having to play the number 1 team. (2003 season, USC was number one in about every poll but the BCS)
and LSU only team to win BCS Championship at a "home game" (last year in Sugar Bowl)
(When your an OSU fan there is not a whole lot of smack you can saythe last couple years)

It's finally starting to look good for the football program. Also Dwayne Walker is a bad ass defensive coordinator. Unfortunately the University of South Central (USC) is just across town.
Camp Randall is the toughest place to play in the conference. I am not looking forward to my Buckeyes playing there at night!
For me:
1. USC TROJANS--the most feared program in the GALAXY!
2. Boise State--the greatest cinderella program in the GALAXY!
3. All Pac 10 teams except ucla (the worst university in the Galaxy--quit them Bodie!)
USC's Defense is going to be a sick and twisted freight train of destruction this season...all we need is to find someone who can catch the damn ball and it's NC All the Way! FIGHT ON!

If you're the Bruins I really don't think that's such a bad thing. It may even be a plus. You just have to make a committment to compete with them as best your limited (by comparison) budget allows. That can certainly be done. Look at the 1990s; your team dominated them.
