Election 2008

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS

So, what did I miss? Anything good?

Stuff that affects me directly in always sunny Colorado:

DENVER – Colorado voters have defeated a ballot measure that would have defined life as beginning at conception.

The constitutional amendment would have defined a person to include "any human being from the moment of fertilization," a first of its kind in the nation.

Opponents contended it could be used to outlaw abortion, fertility treatments that require the disposal of fertilized eggs, and some forms of contraception.

The measure was led by Kristi Burton, a 21-year-old student at an online law school. Burton maintained her only goal was to define when human life begins, and that any discussion about what was next is up to lawmakers.

The measure failed to draw support from national anti-abortion groups, which thought it could affirm the Roe v. Wade decision if taken to the courts.

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
That says it all!!!

There is an old saying, "Be CAREFUL what you wish for, you just might get it!"

I can't wait to see how all the obama fans feel a year from now with all the crap he has said he will do.

Hope you enjoyed your freedom, it will start dying slowly in January! :(

One thing I can say. YOU CAN'T BLAME ME! I didn't vote for his sorry ASS.

Glad to see you're being fair and objective about things and are willing to give Obama a chance before making any judgments.

We certainly do not need any more divisive, fear based political message. McCain would have been absolutely horrible for the country at this point though he would have been a better choice in 2000 then what we ended up with. I am not sure Obama will be able to answer all the problems that humanity is currently facing.

Um.......the world exploded, reformed and we're not humans anymore. We're all figments of your imagination. Other than that, nothing big happened.

Has anyone noticed how George W. Bush took out Saddam Hussein and eight years later a majority of americans elected a that has Hussein as his middle initial? Is it a Bush curse to always have "Hussein" to haunt him?...weird..

yeah I'm watching it too, he sure is talking about race alot.
skin color.
I wonder why that is important at this moment......

How could it NOT be?

Lincoln issued the emancipation proclamation 146 years ago.
Yet as recently as 40 years ago black people in many places had to use seperate drinking fountains, eat in seperate restaurants, etc.

Now a black american is president of the united states. That IS huge, and I would think you'd be proud of your country for the progress it's made, slow and tortured though it's been, towards honoring the sacred credo that all men are created equal.

I feel like George Step. correcting Mr. President Elect during that interview . . "Your CHRISTIAN Faith", but here I go - " Now a black LIBERAL American is President . . . :p
McCain would have been absolutely horrible for the country .
You're absolutely correct ! He's a big govt lib in an elephant's outfit ! He's conveniently in position to be the consensus vote . . . whoever has the most to offer in a dark back alley . .
negotiable as opposed to principled, ya know ? ;)

My guess is you don't watch a lot of news and probably don't read a lot.

Just what ARE you trying to say?

I have stated repeatedly, I do NOT agree with Obama, if you can't deal with that, sorry but I am as entitled to my OWN opinion as ANYONE else.

I watch the news, I just didn't buy into the hype and I KNOW what I am watching, the liberal media had an agenda to get this guy in the white house.

I read a LOT, you have no damn clue. If you are trying to say I am not intelligent, then just say it.

But then that is just the way liberals are aren't they, if someone disagrees with you they are stupid huh?

But I believed the media and Obama's campaing that this was not about race, yet I keep getting reminded that he is the first black...on how opressed the blacks have been (despite them being the top earners in most american sports, music industry, porn industry, goverment positions, religion) and the Black Panthers popping out in a polling place...makes you want to look at the black person right next to you and ask them "wow did you really felt that we who are not black enough or whites have been treating you that bad all these years?"

Just what ARE you trying to say?

The biggest difference between Democrats and Republicans

Listen to the differences in the crowd reactions in these two videos.

First example: John Kerry concession speech in 2004

Second example: John McCain concession speech in 2008

Notice how the crowd doesn't boo and yell out during the Kerry speech. They actually applaud in a respectful and graceful way. Unlike the people in the crowd during the McCain speech who booed, hissed and yelled out inflammatory remarks.

I think these two videos really illustrate a basic, fundamental difference between these two tribes. The Democrats have class. The Republicans don't.

^ There is a more tangible difference between Democrat's and Republican's: money and higher education
Democrats have more of both.

19 of the 20 states with the highest income per capita were Democratic in 2008; and the only exception was tiny (by population) Alaska.

Also 18 of the top 20 states whose citizens over 25 had Bachelor's Degrees or more voted Democratic,
