Well, so long as he said he is innocent, then I'm good.
Hey, Pete King is an asshole. I think I've said that.
Disclosing this information is against the law. So the hyperbole or blatant lies aside, it sounds like he is guilty. I think Pete King is wrong. I don't think the US has actually charged anyone of breaking this law in the past. I may be wrong since I'm just going from my memory. Perhaps the law should be reviewed. If there is value to it, uphold it. If there isnt', take it off the books.
Thanks for your responses Mike. This thread is about America being at a crossroads of being a Democracy based on the Constitution, or a Corporate military fascist state based on the Patriot Act and other similar legislation.
Peter King lies, the gov't lies...wow big revelation...what's left of the the so-called investigative journalists have stupidly occupied themselves with being amazed by the myriad of lies they've been told. but not focussing on the big picture...The Patriot Act and other legislation has allowed PRSM and the framework of fascism to be systematically implemented for years. The information is right here in your face...It's too late in the game to deny that you don't know what's going on...As a person exposed to the information, there are only 2 categories you can now fall in...those who are complicit, and those who fight it.
The reason I say this too you, Mike, is because it is not just a matter of "taking laws off the books "...You are trying to arrest power from a group of people who have been covertly planning how to get it for decades...Once you **** up to this fact then you will see that power concedes nothing without a struggle, and to regain your independence, you will have to fight for it.
Thanks for commenting on my comments.I'm not offended by you dismissing the single point I made.
The thing I would be careful about in your argument is the binary generalization. It is a case of "If you're not with us, you're against us." You put yourself in interesting company using that approach.
Not ignoring your central point, Mike, it just seems somewhat obvious that you have not watched and read all the information provided in this thread, so perhaps you could re-state your position clearer if you actually took the time to get yourself up to speed on the issues before attempting to try and make a central point.
As far as what the sides are, I honestly don't think you know enough about this issue, critical to the future of the United States and the Constitution, to even know who is on what sides, but by all means feel free to stop speaking in ambiguities and explain what you mean. Who and what "company do you put yourself in" and why ?
Also, Snowden sacrficed his whole life to bring information to the table to spark this discussion, you have alot of nerve saying he's not a hero...what have you ever sacrificed for your fellow American...nothing.
I must warn You Mike that I am a debating expert and, while I am patient, I generally do not suffer fools well. I may seem opinionated, but I have watched every second of every video source provided, and analyzed the same, in great detail only concerned with discovering the truth...so if you want to prevent me from responding to you in ways that may seem rude or dismissive, I strongly suggest that you properly educate yourself on the subject before you respond, if you are going to do anything other than agree with me.
As an expert, you realized that I have not engaged in either a "debate" or argument. As an expert, I am sure you understand the point I have made specific to the thread topic and to debating itself and it needs no further clarification. To do so would be insulting your experience and education.
I'm neither on nor off your bandwagon. While I don't take offense to what you ignore or what you assume, it does not mean that I'm in agreement or disagreement with you.
With that said,
I haven't seen the LD that we all aspire towards. I know you know it is only a drop if it was, not if the opp didn't comprehend. You can only go for the harm when the position is taken, not before. You'll lose points and open yourself, but you know that.
While I enjoyed it in watching it live, you want to make sure you have an opponent or else it will not be quite as charming.
Edward Snowden may be stuck in Moscow without a valid passport, but there is a silver lining. Anna Ch@pman, a Russian spy deported from New York in 2010, has asked for his hand in marriage. On Twitter.
Anna @ChapmanAnna
Snowden, will you marry me?!

Sorry. I guess I shouldn't have called him an asswipe. What I meant to call him was a naive asswipe. Maybe his heart was (initially or at some point) in the right place. I really don't know - and have not claimed to. What I do know is that he has now had to run into the arms of enemies of the republic in order to tell his story. How true that story is, we do not know. As for those who claim that the government is going to enslave or **** us, that sounds like Michele Bachmann channeling Sarah P@lin channeling Glen Beck. Privacy concerns? Absolutely. But let's not get totally silly and hyperbolic here, OK? And those in the peanut gallery who claim to know exactly what his motivations were are likely just as foolish and naive as he seems to be. One thing I learned a long time ago about storytellers, as they spin their yarns, they are always either the victim or the hero... never the villain. An odd, yet very consistent coincidence...
As for his salary, here's what he apparently said with his own lips: Snowden pushes back and says the $200k remark was his highest pay mark and was discussed as a part of a full debriefing by Glenn Greenwald and the Guardian team. He freely admits to taking pay cuts to work in certain sectors of the government. Obviously a pay cut was in the cards when he took the job at Booz Allen.
Doesn't seem that he ever got close to $300K, according to him. But no matter. If leaving a $200K a year job and a "hot girlfriend" makes one a saint, then I guess the Vatican is going to be calling me the next time they need a new Pope, since I was making more than that and had a fiancée that could have made Salma Hayek blink when I left banking over 20 years ago. $200K is more than most people make, but it's not a sum that makes me go "wow! what was he thinking???!!!" - sorry. The fuck do I care what he was making or what his squeeze looked like anyway? Is that supposed to make him more believable or just make his motives more pure and saintly?
As for my "service to my country", you are making a dangerous assumption in pretending to know anything about me along those lines. But no, I am not a military or overtly political person. Never have been. But at the same time, while I have not charged up San Juan Hill with Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders, I also have not done anything to harm my country, even if it was predicated on the belief that I was doing something to help. But hey, if you want to believe his fairytale in whole, then that is up to you. But I realize there are ****** at work that will spin this story both ways... as is done in all cases like this.
Maybe he was a nice boy who saw some things that he didn't think were right and he just didn't know what to do. Or maybe not. But as long as he's content to play footsie with our enemies, yep, I'd drone his ass in a New York second. Whatever you think our government might be up to, ever taken a second to wonder what the Chinese and Russians do in their spare time? Two wrongs don't make a right, ***. Although three lefts do.![]()
Their plan is to continuously condition you to except less and less of your Constitutional freedoms, and then eventually apply martial law thru-out the whole country, creating a police state indefinately and permenantly. This is the Hegelian Dialectic, This is what Snowden said in the video, and this is what has been happening for years.
