I'm usually a fan of the planes. Maybe it is just the nostalgia, but I thought Planescape had some of the best fluff in it's writing back in the day.

the quick story about it is i was asking them what they would be in a d&d fantasy world. they have never played though i know they are curious about the game.
my *** wants to be an executioner who only ***** in exchange for money or jewelry. and my *** a mind controller who loves to eat his enemies brains.
i can see it now.
of course, my ****** will flip when she finds out im running a game with her and her parents in it.

My *** can't wrap her mind around a bunch of adults sitting around a table, rolling dice, and making **** up.
On another note, got a video camera for Sinterklaas. There shall be gaming tutorials made for bloggy blog blog. And my FIL (they understand gaming much better than my parents) found this giant styrofoam skull. I named him George after doing the whole 'alas poor yorick' routine.
Got hubby a toolbox with all the little spaces that he can put his mini's for descent in. Figured if I'm painting the fuckers, I'm protecting them. ;-)
I also got Fluxx and Pirate Fluxx from my inlaws.
Oh, and for my birthday Anders got me a cthulu game.
So all and all, not a bad Sinterklaas/birthday for gaming.

As far as parents go yours have greater imaginations than most.

haha, well they have me for a *** so they better be used to me. im such a ***.
when my *** told me about his fantasy charactor he said, "i want to be an eater. i want to control my enemy's minds. and i like to travel the world, tasting their brains."
i was like.. whoa. wicked. if you knew my ***, this would be a total shock. hes a quiet, very reserved person.
when i asked what kind of weapon he would use he said, just his hands. then he did this funny zapping finger motion.

I was playing Fable 3 last night and did a side quest that involved 3 wizards who were basically playing a 3d version of dungeons and dragons where I had to go through and play their story. Upstairs in their house was a table with a DM screen too.
I think whomever developed that quest is a bit of a table top nerd. ;-)

My favorite table top parody in a video game was in the Playstation 2 game Summoner. I was sort disappointed in it, although it was one of the first RPGs for the playstation 2, but the best part of the game was the extra part they added to it where you could watch some of the characters of the game playing D&D. I don't know if it originated the saying or not (I think it was just rendering the parody from somewhere else to show off it's graphics engine.) but it was the first time I heard "I'm attacking the darkness" or something similar with a magic missile, and the events that go in it and how everything quickly devolves is very reminiscent of game days that have gone bad. I can actually see stuff like that happening.
