Although despite the reasonable and I believe correct idea that that much crime could be reduced and controlled by education, better opportunities, fair treatment for everyone there is a certain percentage of humans who can only learn one way. The Hard Way. They see those who try to play by the rules as suckers and fools. Cheating and stealing and harming other is how they have chosen to live. Some I am sure can be assisted to overcome this but others can or will not. For those Police and prison are the solution. Remember you can only appeal to someones better nature if they have one.

She said that Blake had assaulted her both sexually and physically for years. In this case, he probed her vagina with his fingers, sniffed them and then accused her of being with “other men.” He then stole her car and took off.

For this man, the NBA, MLB, and NHL canceled games. Football players wept. For a ******. For this, the New Orleans Saints put his name on their helmets.

What is in that article IS GETTING RID of the Police.
Just because there is still Police personnel on the payroll does not mean there still exists a Police Department.
They have been completely stripped of all their authority, power and equipment with which to do their job.

You are certainly right about attacking cops being really a dumb thing for any citizen to do. Not good for any reason. Changes where needed need to be done rationally and incrementally to be effective. Other wise everyone gets defensive and nothing gets better.
