We landed on the moon.
Roswell was a balloon.
Atlantis was Santorini.
There is no Bermuda Triangle.
There are no ghosts.
People don't have magical powers.
Sorry to break it to you all.
None of that makes the world any less amazing.
The first one is the only thing that can be proven (or disproven) with actual scientific documentation.
As far as Roswell goes I highly doubt that the government recovered a crashed spacecraft and alien body. But there are millions of people that testify to the existence of aliens and it is impossible to prove whether they are all lying or not. Personally, I'm skepitcal. but I don't rule out the possibility.
It seems likely that Atlantis was a myth based on an actual location, but even if we did know that exact location, we really have no way of confirming that it is the "real" Atlantis site. No one could know that, even the people that first documented it. Their accounts are probably far different than the eventual story ended up.
There is a Bermuda Triangle, it's just a geographic location. And all of the mysertious incidents that occured there really did happen and it is not known why, which is what caused the contraversy. Of course there probably is not a supernatural cause, but once again we will probably never know why.
Conciousness is a phenominon that is little understood by science. It's not physically observable, and it is not known how it comes to exist and what all of it's capabilities are.. and what happens to it after a person dies. In the past 50 years we have discovered unexplainable pheonominon and devised theories of energies such as anti-matter, dark matter and dark energy that have observable effects on physical matter, but cannot be observed themselves or classified as physical matter.
The same thing applies to ESP, there are many experiments that lend credibility to ESP and show results that can't be explaned due to simple probability. The phenominon was also extensivley studied by the US government.
Magic isn't supernatural, but it also has a degree of reality behind it. Illusion, hypnosis, and behavioural conditioning are all ways that people can have thier perceptions changed and are all intimately connected with symbols and language to define the way people think. In other words people can use thoughts and words and pictures to influence reality. It may also go along with ESP and advanced mental function, such as people like TV's the Mentalist who has a high logical awareness and he can observe details and connect thier meanings to things that average people are unaware of, or photographic memory or people like Dustin Hoffman in Rainman. The mind can also not only influence itself and other minds, but the body as well. This is called bio-feedback and is acknowledged by many psychologists and has been documented in yoga and meditation for centuries. Magic, Prayer, and those books on how to get rich quick using the power of positive thinking, they are all the same thing.
