Every country should follow its own path.

In France for example the health system is going down and for most people it's quite impossible to have their own house.
In the suburb most of people are poor and live in council flats.
So I guess it is not a good example to follow.

I also have to wonder about your sources there, as I sort of just glanced over them but they did look cheesy.

One looks like an opinion piece, another doesn't seem to realize that 'suiciderate' is actually meant to be two words. Not exactly screaming credibility...

I have read about France and his health system going down, about its suburban issues, about Germany where neo-nazis have legal political candidates to the elections , about Poland wanting the Catholic Church to be the only and official religion of the European community and so on...

Yeah, and america have these tea-party morons as political candidates for elections. I can´t see how that´s any better.

I was about to say, you can hardly look down on European politicians when the US still has politicians campaigning on anti-gay platforms. It's absolutely, fundamentally no better than running on an anti-black, or anti-women campaign. It's absurd. And as long as every politician has to pay lip-service to their 'Christian beliefs', I daresay the US hardly has any moral high ground in regards to that either.

The most ignorant thing a person can do to promote his or her own country is to attempt to do so by putting down another country.

Amen. After all, making yours look the tallest pile of **** still leaves you only with a pile of ****. I remember hearing about a poll in a psychology class taken once where some Americans were asked to pick between two options. Option 1 was that both the USA and Japan have some X% increase in economic well-being (or something to that extent). Option 2 was that both the USA and Japan have an equally negative economic turn. Apparently option 1 won, the reason being most cited as: "Didn't want Japan to win". I couldn't possibly find that poll now so feel free to disregard the anecdote, but it does illustrate a rather annoying cultural trend in the world's third-largest country.

For what it's worth, I looked into the actual OECD statistics (which you can find at oecd.org) to look at death rates per 100,000 of 'intentional self-harm' of several European countries and the USA; the USA has stayed relatively level at 10 deaths (per 100,000); Denmark has shown a downward trend starting at 11.4 in 2000 and going down to 9.9 in 2006. Contrast that with the UK which has stayed stable around 6, or a couple of Denmark's neighbors, Germany and Sweden - Germany with a slight downward trend from 11 in 2000 to 9.1 in 2006 and Sweden stable 'round 10 as well.

It's countries like Switzerland and Finland that surprise, with double the rates I've just listed.

Maybe you should look at how shitty are some quarters like the bronx, the queens,the watts or towns like Lansing, Detroit of Flint.Also bare in mind of who are their inhabitants and how big is the percentage of criminals coming from these places.
