I saw a picture of Phoebe Cates from around 2010 and she looked better than average for a woman her age. She wasn't movie star glamorous, but she was a little more well maintained than the average woman in her late 40s. It would be hard for me to believe that she just fell apart in the last 5 years.
I can see Jennifer Jason Leigh being more attractive than Phoebe at this point. Jennifer is still actively working in the entertainment industry and though she is 53, looks even at that age are still a premium for the industry. Phoebe has stepped back from the entertainment industry to focus on family and running her own boutique shop in NYC, so being entertainment industry attractive is not high on her list.
