After playing the demo a bit, I think the game is pretty fun. It's nowhere near the best looking console game ever made but the gameplay is nice. Gameplay is always key and I get the feeling that it will be graphically best on PC, not consoles. Then again, I still haven't seen it on PS3 and the best looking games I've seen on that console is Killzone 2 and God of War 3. Those are exclusives, Crysis 2 isn't.
Although I didn't experience this, many players are having lag issues. One thing that I did experience is me having a hard time finding a session. After about 10 minutes the game would start up only to kick me out and I'd have to start again. It did this about 4 times but once I finally got in it was fine. I played 8 matches before I got off. Attempted to get back on and it's waiting game all over again. I read that only the PC version will have dedicated servers so this could be a problem for a lot of people.
Most people are describing it as Call of Duty mixed with Halo and I agree. I don't play Halo but it felt like Call of Duty to me. The cloak isn't gamebreaking because of the energy usage, so you won't see a bunch of invisible people getting the drop on you. The energy moves fast when you're cloaked and even faster when you're running. Try doing that together and see how fast you stay cloaked. I liked thermal vision but you have to really pay attention so don't mistake your team for the enemy.
I also like that in order to get killstreaks you have to collect the player's dog tag after you kill them. This, IMO, eliminates campers. Oh sure, you can camp but you'll never get your killstreak so you have no choice but to come out of hiding.
I think if EA or Crytek can iron out the kinks then this game could be cool.
