Could Kamala Harris beat Donald Trump in 2020?

Well I would ****** that you would find some sort of insidious dirt on virtually every politician in congress. You simply don't make it to that level of power without compromising yourself. Can't be done.

Man, it must totally suck to be you, Will. And no offense intended whatsoever....just a personal observation. I am very glad that you are not my next-door neighbor (and I would guess that the feeling is probably mutual. Am I wrong?). Regardless, I hope you have a good weekend.

Kamala Harris is an extremely intelligent senator from California who exudes an impressive, self-confident ambiance. She also has a smart and sexy wit and sense of humor. I like her a lot. I believe that she would eat Trump alive in a legitimate debate (and not the ridiculous sound-bite WWE-wannabe free-for-all that comprises our present political debate format) on the issues of the day. However, she would also be a disastrous presidential nominee since it is painfully obvious that the USA is nowhere near ready for a president who is both a person of anything other than Caucasian descent and a woman at the same time. Perhaps she would be a good running mate for the right democratic nominee but I feel that, despite his rather dubious first year in office, the reactionary ****** that elected Trump in the first place are nowhere near ready to switch their allegiance to the very questionable image that is projected by the present-day Democratic Party. As Trump's term plays out it will be of critical importance that the dems get their act together and not simply rest on being the anti-Trump but instead to carry forth a real message of hope and vision to the voters of our great nation. Without it, the same negatives would apply as they did to Hillary Clinton and Trump would indeed be re-elected....as unlikely as it would seem to be under the present political circumstances. Maybe someday, but not anytime soon.

I don't agree with her and I am not a Democrat.

I also don't agree with California.

If I had the money I would be close enough to a hospital, but I would buy enough land to not have neighbors that are too close to my home.

I totally believe you, Will. To the betterment of all, I truly hope you get your wish and can do that someday.

Think she's there already?

Good start but we need to see her stance on a number of other issues such as minimum wage, student debt (or free college), taxes, etc...
And we nned to be sure these are not just empty campaign promises, we neec to be sure that, if she gets into the White House, she will do what she said she would on the campaign trail.

If the story regarding Harris and Steven Mnuchin is accurate, we're not talking compromise, we're talking corruption. It looks really bad.

...but again, if the media and donors are lining up behind her, it's less about the dirt of the past and more about the business-as-usual of the future. And business-as-usual (read: neoliberalism/corporatism) simply doesn't fly anymore. But again, we'll see. I'm much more interested in how the growing crop of not-taking-corporate-money candidates for the House do next year. If Harris is still a name by then, I'll do more digging.
