The next wave will probably hit North America this month.
Getting vaccinated and following strict contamination prevention protocols is the only way to minimize the spread and severity of covid.
Wear masks, wash hands, don't talk to strangers, and go out only when necessary.

I thought that was the previous wave that started with the Delta variant.
So the current wave in Europe is the same as in America and started in America first???
A COVID-19 variant ‘more infectious than the delta variant’ will hit U.S. in 2-4 months (posted Aug 26, 2021)

Seems like the world is divided about the need for boosters, at least for now. One concern that there are still countries with people who haven't got their first shot (and WANT them), so the vaccines should be going to them.
I'm really concerned about whatever wave is coming when the vaccinations wear off (apparently in as little as 6 months!) and we have to go through all this again. It's frustrating since boosters wouldn't be needed if there wasn't a significant part of the population who is still spreading the virus due to being unvaccinated.

Too many waves. I have lost track of which one is which. It feels like we are chasing our own tails.
I wonder how long it will be before the world has to come to the ****** conclusion that too many people didn't take this seriously, and this will not be controlled for some time now if not ever because too many idiots couldn't be bothered to take any reasonably easy precautions because those precautions barely inconvenienced them. Or maybe believing in conspiracy theories, some very warped sense of "freedom", or risking one's own life and others to own the other side was just too important to them.
Which is just great because when I think of what's good for the world potentially adding in a third major worldwide endemic to go along with the cold or flu we have had for thousands of years and that have ****** millions of people, but much more dangerous because we aren't as adapted to it yet, is such a wonder thing.

Didn't we already hit this point around the time the former-POTUS suggested people ****** themselves with bleach?
At the very latest, it would have been apparent when the term "anti-vaxxer" started trending.
I'm well at the point of accepting this will go on either until the holdouts cave in and get their shots or they all literally die out. I imagine I'm not alone in that.

I got the booster and a 1st shingles shot at the same time so my normal aches and pains were multiplied. Still better than dying.
