So to continue my "exercise", here's one heard from another coworker:

"I'm waiting for the vaccine to get full approval"

While COVID vaccines are authorized for "emergency" use, most (if not all) don't actually have full approval from regulatory bodies, most notably, the FDA. Even those from outside of the US are using this reasoning, since from what I see, the FDA equivalent in many countries have also yet to give their full blessing (even if their governments have).

Case in point, the Pfizer is HOPEFULLY going to get approval by Labor day:

Or at this point, if there is some concern with the vaccines, given how many people have gotten them, you can be assured there will be an even greater effort to fix it. If such a concern even materializes. I could see the issue if your only options were sinopharm or sputnik, but if you're going with the big 4, I'd would be pretty confident.

To put this in more context, the co-worker who said this actually just returned from a 15-day sick leave from being infected with COVID. And she STILL isn't on planning on getting the vaccine until it's approved, and she's still not advocating for others like her to get the jab. I'm guessing she feels that now she's recovered, she's immune, but IIRC you can still get infected, especially from the variants.

Well I don't know about the rest of you but I have started to wear masks again in public when indoors. In my lack of health condition Covid would be a death sentence almost for sure. Plus having three ********* 12 grandsons that I am very found of has made me more cautions. Just my thought.

Prudent thoughts. A couple weeks ago (maybe a few by now) I started wearing a mask again in indoor public settings - grocery store typically.

Better safe than sorry.

I have been wearing a mask at indoor public places since April 2020.
I never stopped wearing masks indoors even with other people who were vaccinated.
Even fully vaccinated people can get infected and get sick and infect other people.
Until Covid gets eliminated like polio, wearing masks will be part of our lives for at least a few more years.
Only when people stop dying from covid will we have reached the turning point.

I used to walk to Westwood Village and see all these Asians wearing masks. I was wondering if they were sick or if they thought I was. Now I know.

If wearing a mask makes you feel safer and more comfortable then go for it. If you are to err err on the side of safety. When I worked security my co-workers thought of me as paranoid but I thought of myself as proactive. Some like Iron Fist, some like Iron Mask, but everybody likes Iron Maiden.
