Here's the difference, and it's huge, the far left is, indeed guilty of **** speech. Mainstream conservatives and righties are even more guilty of it than the far left. **** to break it to you, but Obama and most elected democrats aren't far left, and neither are the people that support them.

Mainstream Conservatives? Are you kidding me? The MSM is largely controlled by the left and the center left. On top of that the left also has Hollywood and much of the entertainment industry.
Now consider that the left has keyed in on America's sad disinterest in politics so they mix their entertainment in with their political messages. That's why you have sites like HuffPo, The Gawker, Wonkette maybe PerezHilton (though he's kind of independent) that are more gossip than news. They love their snark and they think that they aren't hateful. Let's also not forget the left has SNL, the Daily Show, Comedy Central, the View etc. etc. target non-liberals constantly 24/7. Then you have the themes that occur over and over in movies.
The left simply can't be happy unless it absolutely controls the message 100%.
Now I think the right has taken a que from the left and is stumbling it's way along to build some sort of infotainment. Unfortunately they are about 60 years behind the left wing. But if you look at Fox, they have been slipping in folks like Bristol Palin, Ted Nugent, the AWFUL Dennis Miller, Tom DeLay and Michael Medved in between their commentary and their entertainment shows. Fox is fumbling and bumbling it's way along to producing infotainment of it's own. In the case of Dancing with the stars, it seems to be working.

Listen for a second. You cry about Beck and Limbaugh. BOTH of those men are a reaction to what's been coming out of the Left for decades. In fact, stop and think about WHY a guy like Rush Limbaugh and some of the conservatives are on AM talk radio. Conservatives went there in the late 1970s because they couldn't get on TV or in Print unless they were "genteel" conservatives like William F. Buckley. Even he was pissed at how hemmed in he was by liberals.
Beck and Limbaugh are two well dialed in mortars for the conservatives or the non-liberals. The Left has taken it's free ranging artillery batteries for granted so long that they decry folks like Beck and Limbaugh. And you know why? Because they are effective.
Beck especially seeing that they can't use the same playbook against him that works so well on many loudmouthed conservatives. They make him a subject of ridicule and they call him a hypocrite. Beck takes it away from them because he ridicules himself, he's a "rodeo clown" and a blubberer and an alcoholic. You don't get the sleezy "negligee" stuff that you get out of O'Reilly or Larry Craig or the pill popping of Limbaugh. Liberals don't know what the hell to do so they rage even more.
As for Palin, a lot of the **** against her came out before she even opened her mouth and we knew a damn thing about her. She was a middle class, attractive, WOMAN and so liberal White women and oddly enough, black men got the long knives out for her. Wonder why that is? They considered her a traitor and worst of all, a serious threat. That turd John McCain got a huge boost over Obama with his surprise selection. They are now doing the same thing to Bobby Jindal, Nikki Haley and John Huntsman.
No. Beck and Limbaugh are hateful men who are striking out simply to promote their careers and extend their listening base. What they are saying has nothing to do whatsoever with what the left has been spouting.
Look at what I've said above. I'm not saying the left is guiltless. Not at all. I'm saying the extremes of either side are destructive. Beck and Limbaugh are extremes. You can not deny that. They do nothing constructive.
Let's all just work together. Especially at moments like this.

No. Limbaugh and Beck are a product of the left. It's in no way equal, you want to work together that's fine, but the LEFT dominates the American media-entertainment juggernaut and it's total b.s. to pretend like it's a fair fight.
They have built this crap up for decades and then want non-liberals to unilaterally disarm? The internet is full of examples of what liberals are all about. We've gotten very lucky because the left has recently jumped the shark with incidents that they were trying to blame on their political enemies have blown up in their faces. Loughner and the Times Square bomber being some of the more memorable ones.
The left started this toxic environment, now it's time for them to tone it down. Then others will follow suit.
Limbaugh is a product of the FCC (under Reagan of course) doing away with the equal time requirement! If it were still in place, there could be no Limbaugh or his ilk! If they had to give an equal amount of time to opposing viewpoints, there could be no shows like that! The rest are nothing but copycats given Limbaugh's success! And AM radio finds itself being nothing more than a toxic cesspool to this day! I find it funny that nobody ever questions the words, statements, and actions of people who do so for pay, ratings, and are essentially nothing more than ENTERTAINERS......and certainly are not JOURNALISTS or NEWSMEN! When there is money involved......who knows how someone REALLY feels about ANYTHING!?!?! I guess it's just the cynic in me!
